Re: Tyrone v Dublin
Wahey !!! The Dubs in a solid hand-canter (much to my surprise and poorer by €20)...
A cautionery note here: Hadn't Connolly landed the first 1 or 2, he may have collapsed and been hauled ashore. That said, his scores were sublime, akin' to the style and languid striking style first brought to our shores by Maurice Fitz....Further ahead, it's doubtful if the latitude afforded and the lack of pressuried space will be afforded to him again... On a bad day and when your tide is out, these tend to go wide.....
Alan Brogan was awesome. Apart from a couple of pots (2) that failed to find their target, his all round display was top class. His brother, Brogan the younger, has, to a cautionery eye, been found out...OK, a lock of tidy points, but on an evening with possession raining in on you, his desire to shoot on sight is worrying.
Tyrone: Well, it hasn't been their best night. The early stop by McConnell prevented serious embarrassment, Gormley tried his utmost and to lesser affect did Jordan, but in all fairness the remainder of the backline were atrocious. I'm not being anti-Tyrone here, but MH should have been more tactically aware after 15 mins. and deployed Gormley in front of the f/b line, brought a proven battler like Mulligan to gather around m/f and introduced the likes of Coney rather than Dooher before half time.
Tyrone have won 3 Sams in 8 years and one must tip the cap to them. But like the great Kerry teams of 30 years ago, young blood must come in to carry the torch forward. They have given us some memorable days, some wonderful displays of teamwork, great resilience in the face of adversity, classic winning scores, modesty in success, tempered with graciouness in defeat and so to Boc, RHM, TC, Mugsy and those I've ommitted.."Beidgh lá eile lúibh"..

i am delighted to see dublin stick to all the begrudgers yet again , it amazes me to see how these so know alls actually know f all , this game was like last years but dublin just moved up to another level i know the players were annoyed by the comments after last year so they wanted to put tyrone to bed once and for all , dublin played at about 70 percent tonight but will have to up that to beat donegal but thats another days worry , As for tyrone where now for this team well i wont gloat over there fall from grace this side brought everything to the table they will go down as one of the all time greats and it might take a generation for tyrone to get near that sides level again they set the bar so high , to all the tyrone fans yous have had a great rollercoaster ride with this team they done yous proud

Gaelic Football at it's best.....

And why not RG...Tonight's display by Dublin was subliminal fodder for Boxty...Fook all of this handball sh1t, raking footpasses into space, a fair skite of high catches, but a multiplicity of scores from play from "out in the country"..All us "old guard" reminisce about those days..
Despite the gulf in the scoreline stats, 7 points, may have been 17, the propriety that Tyrone shrouded themselves in speaks volumes for them...
An high octane game that spelled the end of the line for the loser, was embellished by a generosity of spirit, fairness and decency on all sides...
The referee's name escapes me...

Oh yeah of course like I totally agree! They're the best team in the country on recent form so I wouldn't begrudge them on an All Ireland win at all! There'll just be no living with them for a year

Ye're in a Semi-Final, albeit as Leinster champions.
My Interpreter says you've played at 70%.
You make reference to Tyrone's "Fall from Grace"
FFS, They lost an A/I Qualifier, having bagged 3 rakes of Celtic Crosses since 2003..
On a night where ye' played well and won, I'd have expected more from you....
Even I can, in what is probably a dark place for them in Tyrone, appreciate what they've given us...

yes a fall from grace if you set the bar so high getting well beaten the last 3 years is a fall from grace , as i said they will go down as one of the all time greats but you probably forgot to read that part boxy see people like you just make me laugh trying to cause crap where there is none

This ia a mixum/gatherum peply from Hip.....
To my mind, Tyrone have been the greatest team in the last 10 years. They've won 3 Sams and brought a new dispensation to the game..A small coeterie of people
have shown vision, dedication and committment to the cause and these attributes have reaped their just rewards...Mickey Harte at the helm..

Whose bedgruding anyone anything ?
Dublin are in the last four
Have yet to see any comment on TV,Text,Twitter, other Fora, or even any post on this one that states anything other than this was a superb performance from Dublin 1-15, The football was fast and entertaining joy to watch. very fit team - superb score taking and full commitment for 70 minutes
As regards fallen from grace - Tyrone although well beaten kept playing till the end-As Spillane said too many miles in too many legs and probably too late in blooding the next generation. Still some fine cameos from Cavanagh, O Neill and Dooher - As Boxty mentions (who was the Ref) so a very clean game all round
one stoppage in the first ten minutes. Can't see that the Older Soldiers Dooher, Stevie O Neill, Hughes, etc will hae anything to regret when they sit on a barstool and reminisce - So again I ask Fallen from Grace ?

Go back a page or two on the thread, I'm only saying you could have been more sensitive to the Tyrone folk, notwithstanding you're right to "Crow"
Tyrone folk, with the exception of "Fooks" such as Bocerty, TC and their ilk are generally "alright sorts" and in the light of your success you could have been more magnamious/gracious..

In all fairness, a great exhibition of the full range of skills, excellent defending, free running over-lappers, quality long-range points....

All provincial winners are through and one representative from each province. For first time in a while all provinces are at an even level - well in terms of what we have left.

Re: Tyrone v Dublin
I didn't think the Dubs would win in such a manner and the way they did it was remarkably simple.. Tyrone are a shadow of the great side of a few seasons ago, they looked like they didn't even have a gameplan? To see Dublin forwards coming out for ball at their ease with the Tyrone defenders labouring 3 yards behind them was a strange one indeed. The Dubs will take fair stopping and this really does seem to be their year, I had only said it half codding during the week but this really does look to be their shot.
Good to see that people coming on here congratulating the Dubs on a rather easy victory is now viewed as begrudging and anti-Dublin...

Best Dublin performance I've seen in many a long year. They were on a different level, how Tyrone only lost by 7 points I will never understand. Mickey Harte might be as well off allowing someone else a go at the helm to be honest.
