so we've gone withthe same team that started against Armagh - which surprises we really because with all due respect to Penrose he was a passenger that day - the other player on the bench of course is Brian Mc Guigan who is a great sub to have too. It could all come down to the subs and you can just imagine the lift Tyrone will get when Dooher is introduced.

I would Imagine Derry will put O Kane on Cavanagh, Lockhart on O Neill and Mc Guckin on Mulligan. In Fairness we have a very strong fullback line which may keep us in this game.

Ricey on PB and Quinn on Eoin I would say? Gormley not pacey enough for either of them. However If it is O Boyle that is put on (from all accounts he might start in Full forward...!) then it will be a battle of the young and fearless and the old and experienced

2 days away, I can't wait!!

Loyal2TheRoyal's Thoughts:

Its nice of Derry to start what is effectively their third string team in the hope that it will even things out a bit against Tyrone. Consequently, I think there will be a lot less between the teams than say had Derry put out their first team. Having said that, I think Derry can win this hard on the steel! Derry by 3-4 points.

Niamh - Conor Gormley always get the job of marking PB - though like you i dont think he has the pace for it. Ricey may be a better man for the job and Quinn marked Eoin during the league game (remember you complained for 2 months afterwards about all the things he done that night).

So its going to be a battle of the full forward lines. I think Tyrone have a greater capacity for stopping ball getting to the two Bradleys than Derry have for stopping ball into our danger men. I'd expect Mugsy to come deep again and try to play the role of the linkman and i hope we leave O'Neill and Cavanagh in round the square.

The half back lines are going to be crucial too - as thats were most of the ball into the forwards will come from. I'd expect Tyrone to start slowly like they did against Armagh - but the cream will rise to the top before the match is over.

Tyrone by 4.

Think Derry by 2, Tyrone up by one in the last 5, and Skinner gets a goal in last minute of normal time.

Niamh are you going out with Skinner - he can do no wrong in your book and you do seem to have an inside line on everything going on in the Derry camp.

More chance of Frank Skinner getting a last minute goal if you ask me Laughing

Lol, No I am not going out with hi, did you ever see the shape of him!! There's a fella who was hit by the ugly stick! Razz No I am friendly with a couple of ones on the team. Honestly though I think Skinner will have a big year this year, and were better to start than them over the loughshore! Wink

Also Boc out of interest, would you say now that the Derry v Tyrone rivalry is still as strong and bitter as it ever was? It depends a lot on you location but it is now imo as bad as ever. There's a lot of Tyrone ones playing it down on HS. Maybe it's just because I'm from South Derry not too far from Tyrone.

the rivalry is still thriving as far as i can see Niamh - some very bitter people on both sides - i know a few examples of Derry guys who hate Tyrone with a passion and i am sure the opposite is also true Laughing
