Re: Tyrone v Derry 21/6/09
Well I'll be cheering on Derry. Maybe its fierce but don't think its as big a rivalry as Mayo-Galway, Cork-Kerry, Cork-Tipperary, Clare-Limerick but rivals nonetheless. Didn't see the game today, but Derry will have to improve to beat Tyrone. No surprise to me if they do but both still a bit behind a Kerry or a Cork. Injuries clearing up will help the Derry lads.

It's hard to measure but for me it's the most intense rivalry in the country. We might be without Fergal but I think pasty Bradley is back for it which will be good.

I think backing a nil each draw could pay dividends.
Tyrone were awful today, couldn't score of a UDA man.

Re: Tyrone v Derry 21/6/09
I'm always nervous when it comes to playing Tyrone as the result means bragging rights for me or my Tyrone mates.
Fergal Doc will be a big miss, but if Patsy Bradley is back then that should help fill the void a bit........but not by much as there's a gulf in class and influence between them.
That said, i still think we are behind Tyrone so go in as massive underdogs which will help us no end as the favourites tags as a dirty one that Derry can't wear as all.
Would love to be at it, but not that easy when you're involved in GAA in the UK, i'll be there for the Ulster Final though!

Tyrone are facing an increasingly understrength Derry team, missing for definitely are Mc Cusker, Doc and Muldoon, possible missing are; Patsy Bradley, James Kielt, Paul Cartin and Sean Martin Lockhart. Tis a big ask from us but I have faith.

i see Dooher had to retire injured from a club game yesterday too - not good news we need him if we are to get past Derry's reserve team.

Can't believe how unlucky we have been with injuries. I think it will be a close affair form goes out the in derbys.

Typical Derry wan!
She'll still tip Derry in the end but the excuses are there should Tyrone win! It was the same before our game!
Dooher being out evens it up though...

There ye go again tarring us all with the same brush...
Fixed that for you JC!
Such incidents are relevant to the county they happened in, not the province. This one time it's in Derry. I wouldn't say Leinster club football is awful dirty because of the incident in Wicklow a couple of months ago.

I'm going to get one. They are €40 in the O'Neills factory on the Long Mile Road. Practically giving the stuff away there. I might leave it to later in the year to get it though, sure I'll still get plenty of wear out of it round September and then? Won't I?

Rumour on the grapevine is Paul Murphy is starting in middle of the park, Cailean O Boyle is starting in half/full forward and James Kielt has only a hair line fracture so may play some part in the proceedings.
