Unknowingly JC you have become a little over-focused on Ulster. Maybe it's the lack of good championship games, maybe it's the blue mist that has descended but there has been a definite Ulster leaning to your recent posts.
There problem is that there aren't enough Dubs around!!
Distinct lack of Dubs alright!!! I have to say though that I have huge admiration for Tyrone and if anything they are getting better and better and this season seem to be determined not to get drawn into stuff that they might've last year. Definitely the team to beat.
You're right though - football has been p155 poor this year. The only games to comment on have been the awful ones and dirty ones and the best have been Armagh-Tyrone and Cork-Kerry esp part II - otherwise mediocre fare!
Now call of the fatwah or I ain't going looking around the Ulster Folk Museum for mah roots ..........

Aye, in all seriousness, unless there is a marked turn-around I'd say we will look back on this year as being a poor one.
It's weird too cause you almost feel left down or something. You look forward to the championship for the majority of the year and then when it simmers rather than boils, it's disappointing.
Then again a Dublin Mayo rematch coupled with a Tyrone Kerry clash and a Galway Cork game could turn it into a year to remember. Here's hoping.

If you look at it objectively the last couple of years have been poor tbh - only the final saved last year...

Yeah but maybe that's all it takes? One or two good games will be remembered more than 5-6 poor ones.

Hence the smiley at the end! We'll be doing well to beat Armagh, never mind thinking further than that.

Yep not arguing with that RMD but if so it's just masking the fact that our football needs drastic surgery IMO. Back door hasn't worked at all - unless the aim was increased revenue - and crowds are falling year on year - and I wouldn't blame the recession solely either.
Over the last 3 years the amount of times I can recall watching Leinster matches, Ulster, Munster and Connaught, qualifiers, quarters, semis and even finals and thinking - god this is shocking stuff is not diminishing at all.... probably increasing. Sometimes I wonder where it'll all end up!

Two poor teams going nowhere.
Derry's best hope is to avoid Meath in the second round of the qualifiers.
Tyrone are only beating half-teams in Ulster, they'd never beat Meath for example. We are their boogie team.

You can't beat us Bocerty. Face it, Meath are better than Tyrone, I know it, you know it, difference is I am man enough to say it.
It shows that gulf in class between the top teams in Leinster and the supposedly top teams in Ulster when Dublin destroy Meath who in turn are a million times better than Tyrone who are supposed to be top of the pile in Ulster. And then they hammer Derry, imagine what Meath or Dublin would do to Derry or Monaghan or any Ulster team for that matter. Its scary to even think that.

it is scary loyal it most certainly is - the Meath county board would almost certianly take the decision to withdraw the senior mens football team from all competitions for a few years just to save face such would be the hammering you would get. They'd have to replace the umpires at h/t their fecking arms would be sore raising the flag for every Tyrone score.
