Re: Chelsea V Liverpool
And these are supposed to be two of the tightest defences around?

Is there another goal in it? Wouldn't surprise me for either team.

It was far from a borefest!!
I though Rafa should have brough Torres back on for the last 5 minutes.

Hell of a tie though, 8 goals in two games with still a frantic half an hour to play, some difference to the Chelsea-Liverpool games we've come to know.
He did score..just happened to be for Liverpool!!lol

Re: Chelsea V Liverpool
comiserations Niamh-but look at it this way:
Liverpool will now be able to concentrate on winning their remaining matches in the Premier League. Maybe, just maybe they might oust ManU off the top and win?!!!

Unbelievable match wasn't it, my nerves are absolutley shot! Chelsea deserved to go through but Liverpool never gave up, thats what I love about them to the bitter end. Still don't think anyone will come close to Barca.

I totally agree! Also, I think hiddink is an absolutly brilliant manager. He has proven himself numerous times throughout and I think tonight proves that. Phew.......i'm worn out after that match

Re: Chelsea V Liverpool
Also can I also stress how mugh I HATE Drogba, nothing to do with his scoring goals past Liverpool but for the fact he is literally the biggest winge I have ever seen playing soccer, he'd give Kieran Donaghy a run for his money. Sublime player by my god he doesn't half act on his injuries!

Re: Chelsea V Liverpool
And to think I expected two dour games with little goals. But here we get 12 goals!
Great entertainment altogether, end to end stuff. But if Chelsea defend like that against Barca they could be exposed even more! Messi will also be up against a makeshift left-back as Cole is suspended for the first round. But Terry's return should tighten it up a good bit, don't want to be negative after such a game. Of course Barca aren't exactly watertight at the back so we could see another high-scoring tie!

Don't rate Cashley much anyway, thing hes an average defender who fouls alot.

Re: Chelsea V Liverpool
I think Chelsea migth win the champions league-they have the players, the manager, but most of all the determination and faith to plow ahead and take down any team who comes across them. Their mentality is totally different than the premier League. I think the one thing the whole team wants is to win the champions league, and i think that each player only had main goal before season-to win the champions league-and I sure hope they do.

Yeah but he's fast which is essential on Messi. And as much as I hate the little fcuker, he's not a bad player, always does well on Ronaldo for example. And he's still alot better than whoever Chelsea will shoehorn into the side to try and cope with Messi.

Re: Chelsea V Liverpool
As a Liverpool Supporter I am less annoyed tonight than I was after the 1st leg game, because they actually believed in themselves tonight. Pity Gerrard wasn't fit as without him we lose a leader as well as Torres who rarely plays well without Stevie. Ah well, Barca for the CL, hope Porto beat united it would be better without any English teams in final Porto v Barca final.

Re: Chelsea V Liverpool
Chelsea have a very weak defense, but as MMM said, Terry is a force and can help rectify that. Since Cech fractured his skull, he hasnt been the same player. He's still a great goalie-but he was better before Hunt injured him. TBH, he's not good at penos, and that's a weakness in Chelsea if they have to go to penos.

Drogba is the best player in the world right now.
All wannabe soccer players should look up to him with a kind of admiration.
He has it all, speed, strength, skill. Class act.

In all fairness he is a good player and as ya said he does have pace and skill as well. He's a good defender and most of the time, gets the job done-he'll be a loss to Chelsea in the semi
