Sorry, I typed Sheehan but meant Scanlon. (will correct) Sheehan was very good and the dominant force in midfield - Scanlon was poor. Galvin worked hard but, I felt, to little avail.

Meant to say also that Maher made a difference when he came on.Thomas Clarke wrote:Real Kerry Fan wrote:. Galvin and Sheehan actually did play well..

He did, although he is very limited. Where would you play Donaghy, RKF?

Sorry for the mispost. Getting worried about Donaghy. Gets too frustrated when things not going his. When he moved to the wing the low ball to BJ Keane especially worked very well. Still there is a long year ahead and his performance improved last year during the summer, but at the moment I am not sure would I start him.

Re: NFL Division 1
Yeah, aside from the final last year, his form was very poor. As it was in 2010. i thought being captain might prompt a big performance, but he really didn't get into the game at all, and looked, dare i say it, as bad as O'Gara at the other end.
Maybe it is time to move him to midfield, as being more involved may help him. But his form must be a worry for O'Connor.
As for Keane, he worked hard and got a few scores, but I'd see him more as a forager in the half-forwards, rather than a scoring threat in the corner.
Young Curtin looked lively when he came on.

Re: NFL Division 1
With a bit of luck the whole Six Nations will be abandoned for good.
Over seven hours of live rugby on RTE this weekend, and the All-Ireland hurling club semi-finals and sixteen National Football League games on.
Worse still, all anyone seems interested in is the two tossers (excuse the un-forum-like language), Evra and Suarez. I can't figure out which player made a bigger joke of himself today.

Thanks RKF.
Going by reports it seems Armagh seem to disappear for long periods of time, really thought Kerry were going to give Armagh a hiding after HT.
What happened with the sending off RKF?

Ah Tomas had got his free and I think a couple of Armagh lads were stopping a quick one and Tomas gave a knee to an Armagh player. He should have no complaints. When Kerry brought them back to 3 points Armagh kicked 4 great scores from limited possession in the last 10 minutes. Well deserved their victory.

And I cant see how the condition of the pitch would make much of a difference.

Re: NFL Division 1
Can one of the Mods please contact Bluearmy, and ask him to start posting again. I'd love to hear his explanations for Down's 3rd hammering in a mere 11 months by a Cork side that he so maligned (a staggering 36 point aggregate deficit).
As was suspected by many at the time, Down's 2010 all ireland final appearance looks more and more like a fluke with each passing month. Can anyone honestly think of a weaker side to have made an all-ireland final in the last 30 years?
Hard to see how James McCartan can put together a side that will be competitive this summer - if he can, he'll deserve a lot of credit.

Re: NFL Division 1
I think that it is a joke that the GAA are punishing Monaghan for appealing the fine handed to them by taking away home advantage from them, this could have a decisive impact on who stays in division 2 this year. In turn Armagh, Cork and Kildare are now looking at witdrawing their appeals for fines handed to them. I am all for stamping out the brawls that are occuring in the games but there should be more suitable ways in dealing with such problems. It is even more annyoing especially after the ridicuolus ban handed to Derrtresk.
Some good news for Armagh though, just heard the outinfrontpodcast and it seems that Ronan Clarke is on track to return to Armagh although I am not as optimistic. However if he did return we would have some full forward line.

Not a bad run out - Connolly had another good one ... consistency is all I ask for Dermo! Yellow cards are a joke in this League - Philly McMahon getting sent off was ridiculous.

Re: NFL Division 1
just read this on BBC website
Armagh are in relegation trouble after a third successive defeat in Division One of the National League.
The Ulster county were three points down when they had skipper Ciaran McKeever sent-off as the teams came out for the second half.
Referee Michael Duffy showed the red card after a linesman had reported seeing the corner half-back throw a punch in the tunnel.
just were does a corner half back play?????
