Re: Local GAA Championships
Also worth mentioning that the Brains behind Cavan Football considered it a good idea to hold a game which broke the collective training ban on the same evening that the Ulster final was being held on the grounds of Breffni and with most of the Ulster Council still floating around...
Also the cup isn't beyond Swad yet.. Just heard from a source that Ulster Board contacted them today to inform them an illegal player was fielded by Corduff.

Oh Bejaysus, ye're good at that all right....How many of the CB executive deal solely with "irregularities and illegals"...Must be 3 full time vigilantes there...

Re: Local GAA Championships
Not at all in this case actually.. Ulster Council rang Swad and told them they had discovered the irregularity. Swad could be offered a replay or even just handed the cup. Swad say they don't want the Cup but will take a replay if it's offered. Possibility that the Corduff player who came on and scored their second goal was only 16. Swad had brought it back to within 1 point just before that so it had an effect on the game. Still, I don't agree with it, if he's from the Club then fook it let him at it. Stupid of Corduff management to put their players in that position though.

Re: Local GAA Championships
Nemo looked very good in the first half yesterday but very ordinary in the second, Masters turned back the clock. Dr Crokes gave it a good rattle but left themselves too much to do in a fractious game littered with the usual Cork-Kerry spite. Think Kilmacud are in with a big shout of ultimate glory.
Oulart red mist cost them Leinster - silly.

I didn't see a whole lot of the hurling and none of the football but with the sides level in the hurling with 5 or 10 to go, Oulart just couldn't kick on. In those closing minutes Brian Hogan showed why he's a Kilkenny senior, winning a load of ball and keeping his composure before hitting the right ball.
4 goodish teams left in the football. Kilmacud will find Cross a hard nut to crack all the same. St.Bridgets will give Nemo their fill of it too, if all the bullish rantings I endured from a few Kiltoom fcukers yesterday is anything to go by.

Regardless of the ref, crossmaglen showed why they are still a force in club football by coming back from 6 points down twice. It's come at a cost...i think armagh will get relegated from d1

He was but Cross played hard football in the second half scoring 3-6 to KC's 4.

the second was an absolute gift. KC went on defensive at start of second half when they had the breeze at their back, no worse team to defend against than XMAGLEN as they will just chip away and chip away next thing they are in front.
ref had a stinker too.

The final is hardly a foregone conclusion either....Bridget's will be well buoyed up by their victory over Nemo and would appear to have enough to finish the job off..
