You could do worse....It will more than likely be a low enough scoring affair, reckon 15 points will win it....Crusheen have as good a team in Munster from 1-9 including current Clare seniors Donal Touhy, Pat Vaughan and Cian Dillon, Cathal(clare FB in 2009 til he had to walk away) and Cronin Dillon are very experienced and tough defenders alone with the two Brigdales add to that Ciaran O'Doherty who captained Clare to the A/I 21's title last year....but after 1-9 their problems start, David Forde transferred there this year and has done alright but isn't the player of old and they hav had to rob peter to pay paul by playing Gerry O'Grady at 14....If they had one outstanding forward they would have at least one county title for all their good work over the last 5 or 6 years...Also the lack of a consistent free taker has been a hinderence as well.....They are dogged and physically very strong
Cratloe on the other hand are a vibrant young side full of boundless energy and running and play a game to maximise this, they don't have a big strong ball winner in the forwards but they do have 5 very good stylish lads who are all composed on the ball and have a decent skill level, they like to use short puck outs, playing clever 30-40 yard passes into space for men to run onto and constantly switching the point of attack....they are fairly economical with their score taking and in Conor McGrath, Podge Collins and Cathal McInerney as an inside forward line they have 3 very confident young hurlers who won't waste too many chances....
Crusheen will need the breaks to go their way and probably out goal Cratloe as well....I'd say the bookies have it about right.....Although the draw is worth a bet alright....
Prediction:
Cratloe 1-13
Crusheen 0-12
Even though some of the bigger clubs are giving out about the structure of the championship(mainly because it has opened it up and they ain't as dominant as old) but of the 8 games so far in the knockout stages(iuncluding 2 replays) only one game was any bit one sided(sixmilebridge beat the mills by 10 points in a replay) and the rest all went down to the wire

Thinly veiled "Puke & Co wintered well" If I could winter bullocks as well as ye' hoors have done, I'd be in clover....
What was that Seekers song again ?? "Rocking, Rolling, Riding.........out along the bay"........Puke badly exposed here....

Haven't a clue what you are on about, but anyone who has seen Cratloe hurl ove the last two seasons would agree with my assessment, they ar playing a brand of hurling that is superior to any other team in clare....The fact that they have been going well in the football has helped this as their support play is excellent....If the sparrow had any sense he should be looking to get one of the cratloe trainers into his ste up

For the fourth year in a row the underog has won the county final...crusheen prevailed on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-11.....Don't think anyone in Clare would begrudge them their first title

Crossmaglen regained the Armagh title today beating Dromintee by 3 points in the final. 14 titles in 15 years, cant see them beating St Galls though

Would that be 8 different winners in the past 10/12 yrs Pukey?
In other news:
Portlaoise retain Laois...1-08 to Adles/Kilcruise 0-08
Galway: Kileererin defeat Corofin by 3 points or so.
Kerry: Crokes rout Austin Stacks 1-15 to 0-11.
Carlow: Draw between Rathvilly and Old Leighlin.
Dublin: Kilmacud overcome St.Brigids 3/4 points possibly.
Monaghan: Clontibret6 beat M/Cloone by 2 in replay.
Limerick: Monaleen victorious.
Kildare: Newbridge derby, Sarsfields beat Moorefield by a couple of points.
Connacht club: St.Bridgets (Ros) trounce Eastern Harps (S) 21 points to 4...Leitrim Champs Glencar/Manor will teach those hoors a lesson the next day..
Ulster club: Glenties defeat Kingscourt.

.
Off hand from 2010 backwards....10 Crusheen, 09 Cratloe, 08 Clonlara, 07 Tulla, 06 Wolfe Tones, 05 Kilmaley, 04 Clarcastle won be the winners back to 04....Think the bridge and Barefield won 5 between them between 1998 and 2002....I am missing someone, Clarecastle could well have won it in 2003 as opposed to 04 as they certainly didn't win back to back title....so that would be 9 different teams since 1998....

Good to see NC get past Kingscourt today. Next up is Clontibret at home. They will be rank underdogs against the Monaghan men but will hopefully put in a good performance.

Crokes too experienced and cute for Brigids. Point down at half time and rattled in 1-02 in three minutes at the start of the second. Brought on some guy called Vaughan and he scored 1-02 himself - missing a peno but netting the rebound. Goals killed Brigids.

Crokes too strong overall. Gooch came to life for 15 mins in second half and rattled in 1-3,game over. Ambrose O'Donovan outstanding midfield. Re future Kerry players, hard to judge but Mike Molony may be a prospect in the full back line.

Re: Local GAA Championships
Jesus I didn't think Moloney had a good game, I thought Donaghy took him to the cleaners. However, there aren't many Donaghys on other IC teams.
Gooch was class as usual. Every time he got the ball in the second half either he scored or he laid it off for a score. Eoin Brosnan was good as well, a real driving force as they say.

Re: Local GAA Championships
O' Donovan as excellent i thought was full of energy and has a decent right boot on him - what did he finish with was it 3 points.
Gooch looked uninterested for large parts of the game but when he took an interest he made things happen and it was all simple stuff he was at. I thought Donaghy was held fairly well, i also though Stacks NO 15 deserved a smack in the gob at some stage.
Watched the Galway final - dear oh dear what tripe ..................

Utter B****x, you should work for the Sunday Game if that's your level of analysis. I was at this and it was tough, hard with some great scores and deserving champions. Corofin were always limited and Mike Farragher aside simply lacked any real threat up front. With big Tommy Hughes lording it @ mf and Conlin Ford ruling the roost @ fb it was up to the Joyces, Nicky and The Master himself, Paraic to make it count at the business end which they duly did with aplomb under the tactical genius of player/manager and dual All Ireland winner Tommy Joyce although Tommy couldn't shoot for sh8te these himself days. PJ is getting married to one of mmm's chick friends next week so we all wish them the very best.
Big Congrats to you too mmm
