Shocking scoreline, Brigids are a good side though and could go a long way this year

And my old friends in Coolderry annexed their 28th title! That'll keep the Co Chairman happy. Birr next on 22 - 12 of which were won within the last 20 years!

Utter B****x, you should work for the Sunday Game if that's your level of analysis. I was at this and it was tough, hard with some great scores and deserving champions. Corofin were always limited and Mike Farragher aside simply lacked any real threat up front. With big Tommy Hughes lording it @ mf and Conlin Ford ruling the roost @ fb it was up to the Joyces, Nicky and The Master himself, Paraic to make it count at the business end which they duly did with aplomb under the tactical genius of player/manager and dual All Ireland winner Tommy Joyce although Tommy couldn't shoot for sh8te these himself days. PJ is getting married to one of mmm's chick friends next week so we all wish them the very best.
Big Congrats to you too mmm

Re: Local GAA Championships
The Tyrone county final takes place this weekend between Carrickmore (Conor Gormleys' team) and Coalisland Fianna. If Carrickmore manage to keep out the goals then they will be on their way to another county title but the chances of a Tyrone club making the breakthrough in Ulster at senior level is still as far away as the lighthouse. My money would be on St Galls for back to back Ulsters to be honest.

Jayo, I'm not sure whether it was a motivational quote from American Football coach Vince Lombardi or not but think I came across it whilst reading something by Lance Armstrong but it has a powerful and deep meaning to certain folk I suppose.
Soccerball player Johnathan Woodgate also had it tatooed across his back after he made a full recovery from a career threatening injury I believe.

Apologies, my posting volume has dropped a terror recently, the oul college life takes it's toll on a man.
Anyway is that Mid-Mon man still motoring around here? Is the hooor still on the beer after the victory?
It's a wonder theres no mention of the Monaghan final here?
Cracking finish to a game huh?
Ulster? Galls me "whole" !

Re: Local GAA Championships
Tight aul end to our game last week alright, but big Paul did the business and saved the day. Shouldn't have really come down to that as we were up by 5 going into the final quarter and should've pushed on, but Magheracloone never gave up to their credit and edged their way back into it. You'd have to feel sorry for Tommy Freeman though especially with how well he played over the two days, horrible way to lose a game. Magheracloone really haven't had much luck in county finals this past decade. Since 2002 they've been in 7 county finals(including 2 replays), and only won once in 2004.
Next stop now is Ballybofey it seems against Naomh Conaill . Wouldn't know much about them to be honest other than a few young players I recognise from the Donegal seniors and u-21s like Molloy and McLoone. We're only after scraping through our final and they've come through a tough away game in Cavan already which will no doubt bring them on a good bit, so we're very much up against it on Sunday week.

Another high scoring final in Mayo .... mirrors the county team - but fair play to any parish that wins their first ever title - congrats Ballintubber!
Well done too to Coalisland - a marvellous game with 16 points scored - and 5 from play ... this will bring the crowds back .....

BE do you know who won the Derry Junior Championship this year and do you know much about them? They're paying a visit to Breffni on Sunday to take on quite a good Swanlinbar team..

Wait and see Boxty. Without knowing anything about the standard of Junior football in Derry they'll have to be a good outfit to stop Swad..
Aughawillan in Ballinamore next weekend? Few injuries I hear. And the great Ballinamore relegated to Division 2? What must Paddy Dolan be saying...

Pulling your leg Jon, I hear they're useful enough.
Paddy Dolan....a real gem....Could have won us the Connacht final in 1959 in Sligo when his penalty crashed off the post to safety....Such is life...
Bit of economic misfortune years ago saw him lose the premises in town but he's still to the good and in his usual buzzing form. A top minor, one of the stars of the '56 minor team beaten by Dublin and the ref in the minor final.....Gave tremendous service to Sean O'Heslins....

Ardmore from outside Derry City is correct JS, they done very well to win the Championship but the standard of them wouldn't be that great. They have done a lot of work developing the youth side of the club in recent years and that is begining to show through but them winning the Junior Championshp was a bit of a shock. I wouldn't be betting on them if i'm honest.

Re: Local GAA Championships
Two Clare teams in action over the weekend...
Killenana take on Borrisokane in the munster intermediate, Clare teams have a decent record in this comp. over the last 5 years, while intermediate in Tipp has gone to **** since they did away with relegation in the senior and allowing teams to regrade themselves to senior if they please....in saying that it has been only six days since Killenana won their first ever intermediate title and might have celebrated a bit too well, would expect them to give a good account of themselves and would fancy them to scrap by
Crusheen take on Kilmallock in the senior, interesting game in store, the venue and the weather are very much in Crusheen's favour, Pat Vaughan has been struggling with injury and if he isn't close to his best then it would be a serious blow or Crusheen, would expect them to grind out a result in a low scoring contest, at generous odds of around 11/8....limerick club hurling is very overrated

Killenana lost by a point to Borrisokane, 6 days was probably too short of a gap after winning last Sunday, they were slow out of the traps and got a couple of late goals to pull them back into it

Re: Local GAA Championships
Swad hammered Ardmore 4-16 to 2-06. Swad owned the first half and could have been even further ahead. Ardmore fought bravely in the second half but couldn't make up the deficit and Swad finished well. Gearoid McKiernan and Robbie Prior class again.
Drumalee lost the intermediate game against Tyrone team.. D/leavy? Went to extra time after Drumalee kicked a wide in front of goal with the last kick of the game. Drumalee should have taken the game in normal time but the Tyrone side pushed on in extra time and probably deserved their win in the end.
Killer hangover and got stuck in front of one of those screeching women and beside a Cavan man who was talking **** and shouting for the Tyrone team..

Galls thumped by Cross - interesting. And surprised to see the Donegal champs give Clontibret a hiding too.
Boden far too strong for Vins - first game Vins lost this year and it the county final!! 4 in a row for Boden. If they sort out the stupid wides they could be there or thereabouts ...
