And Esther "With all due respect Cavan lost so get over it" No that is not a statement said with all due respect, it's childish and lowers the standard of debate on the site. The game is being discussed, everyone is entitled to their point of view and and the minute someone speaks against the winning side they are immediately branded as bitter? If Boxty had written what Dougal did would it be considered as bitterness or just an opinion on the game?
Jon, I felt that there was a bit of bitterness involved especially after reading this statement from Dougal:
'hopefully they will go all the way,and maybe play football for most of the game rather than dragging out kickouts and frees.'
As for Boxty writing something like that, the simple fact is, he wouldn't.
id hope they'd go all the way,and do it without resorting to negative tactics, because i believe they are well capable of playing football.im not going to lie,at the minute they are the last team id like to see winning,if they continue playing as negative as they did last night.the only other team ive seen, thats left is rosscomon, and they play a positive style of football,il be joining you essie, and supporting them.

Rows about puke football at U21 level - where is it all heading ...
As is known the Dubs are toying around with a defensive system. I do not like that football but have to concede that I'd take Sam if it was won this way. The most effective system IMO is the Tyrone one of 2008 - but you need some very good players with superb engines. Systems come and go - but I looked at Barcelona the other night (restoring my faith in soccerball) and thought maybe someone in GAA will come up with a fluid attacking system to win games too. Prediction for 2011 AI Final - Kerry 7-27, Dublin 8-28!!

Id have my doubts about that, i think they have 2 good forwards who they know will get them enough scores to win games with limited possession so everyone else stays in their own half swinging elbows and shoulding lads who are coming forward in the back. Its not football most of the time but its effective for them and it has worked for them in the two games that i have seen them.

The "Blanket Attack" has been tried with the side i play for over here, it was brilliant fun to play but unfortunately not very fruitful as we cruised to a 13 point defeat. It is the way forward, but after that game we decided to shelve it as a tactic and only use it during meaningless friendly games!
