Ulster Championship - Derry v Fermanagh
Derry for the win.
I've been saying for years Derry would benefit enormously from the input of a Meath man.
Seemingly, one, Colm O'Rourke was Foyleside recently, to offer up some advice to the native county of his Sunday Game colleague, Joe Brolly.
I can see Derry complimenting their natural ability with an uncharacteristic will to win this summer.

I don't even think the Derrymen rate their 'natural ability' as highly as you seem to Loyal, which is saying something!
They are an average bunch, and have been for years. Well down the pecking order in Ulster in terms of natural talent within the squad.

The problem is that Derry have been complimenting their natural ability for years now instead of complementing it!

I surprised these two counties declined the Queen's invitation of a visit to Croke Park - I can't see them having any further appointments with GAA HQ.

Re: Ulster Championship - Derry v Fermanagh
Derry strolled to a 1-18 to 1-10 victory over Fermanagh at Celtic Park.
The hosts completely dominated the first half and led by 1-12 to 0-2 at the break. John Brennan's charges had nine different scorers from open play during that opening period, with Eoin Bradley helping himself to 1-2.
Trailing by 16 points at one stage, the Ernesmen showed good battling qualities and they moved closer thanks to a second-half goal from corner back John Woods and four Daniel Kille points, but Derry's place in the second round was never in doubt.
Gerard O'Kane and Conleth Gilligan scores rounded off a purposeful first-half display from the hosts and points from Joe Diver and Bradley upon the restart immediately snuffed out any danger of a successful Fermanagh recovery.
To their credit, Fermanagh's inexperienced side never gave up but they couldn't recover from their poor start in the lion's den.
Well done to Derry on this famous victory.
I think it is 11 years since they last put consecutive victories together in the Ulster Championship?
Armagh / Down have to be favourites for the next tie.

Some great long-range scores taken by Derry. Fermanagh were very very poor though.

Yes Derry have some good forwards RMD.
I fancy them to go all the way in Ulster this year.

cant see it Loyal - Derry tend to blow hot and cold and you never know which Derry team will turn up. If they were to come up against Donegal i'd say Donegal with their tactics would beat them.

Cavan should comfortably dispose of Donegal Boc.
Derry will beat Down in the side's first meeting in the Ulster Championship since the 1994 campaign.
And go on to set up a final with Cavan.
