The only way that sentence would be in any way valid was if by Sam, you meant Uncle Sam. Do Cavan have strong American connections?
1947 All Ireland Final? Polo Grounds NY they won the Sam in the land of Uncle Sam!!!
Yes but Cavan 2010 All-Ireland champions winning in the Polo Grounds NY, very unlikely!
Visited there when i was in NY, several nice big blocks of appartments there now. It was strangely amazing to be there thinking that the only All Ireland Final to be held outside Ireland was there.

This is the Cavan SUPPORTERS thread. Plus Sam was in Cavan since he was last in Mayo..

It's lovely to get that win playing well.. Gives us hope that if we could get a bit of consistency going we could be in a better position. Givney played a stormer in the centre of the park Loyal is dead right tipping him as one to watch out for. Delighted to see Mackey and Cullivan doing well too both were hugely promising at Underage.

Look I've said it enough times, Givney is immense around the middle of the field. He has shovels for hands, there is not a safer pair anywhere in Ireland.
Tommy Carr could do it with looking at a few more junior footballers in Cavan, clearly the senior ones aren't up to much.
There's a few good footballers on there too, Flan the Man for instance. Could see Cavan challenging for Ulster with a few defenders and the right leadership.

I reckon tommy won't be around to see april never mind seeing any "more" cavan junior matches. That's the good word up around our way and a replacement has already been put on standby.

I'd imagine Gearoid McKiernan would be the only other Junior footballer who could make the senior panel. I think getting rid of Carr now would be a big mistake at this stage of the year. Who did you hear was ready to step in Johnnos? The U-21 manager?

if hyland can get us to an ulster final, which a believe he can do,i think he should take over from carr before the championship.carr is not the man for the job and noone else will want the job after carr.i believe hyland is the only man in the county fit for the job.

Let's just say a donegal man with cavan connections was sprouting at the weekend!
Don't want to be naming anyone but a fellow former team mate of this donegal man is being lined up, or so the story goes.

I only got to listen to it Scoop im not around home.. 20 points to 14, from the sounds of it Nesty played well and so did Mackey and Brennan despite a few missed chances. Cavan were ahead the whole game and almost let Offaly back into it but managed to finish out very strongly with points from McKeever Mulvey and McGuigan wrapping it up..

I think we should adopt Dublin as GTs official team in need to be honest. In all the years I've been watching Dubs v Gaillimh, don't think I've ever seen one or the other as fundementally wrong, as the Dibs were tonight. That was not Dublin football Jayo, sort it out man.

Hard to see them calling it off tho the GAA try and run the u21s off as quick as possible.... Be bad form if the weather was like this it would ruin the game!
