Re: Dublin V Kerry
Orgasmic indeed.
And this useless Dublin team beat Kildare with 14 men.
Could we have a Kerry V Cork final?
And Hayes did say the only genius on view would be Gooch.

loyal did meath not suffer in 2001 against galway . it got so bad defenedrs were pushing up getting one on one and fisting over the bar. admittedly not on the same scale as today but i was there that day just after you gave the kingdom a thrashing in white.

We went to pieces in the second half and Joyce opened us up like Gooch is doing to Dublin. I suppose I should take my comment back so!

Right you be GF. The Dubs have brought shame to our province. It is now up to the Royals to salvage what they can.

I think Meath can do it. But Dublin can still restore some pride in the second half. Its not over yet and I think Dublin can still win it even at this stage.

The dublin players should not leave the house for the next year or so. Blow it up ffs

Re: Dublin V Kerry
Well I would give a small bit of credit to Stephen Cluxton and Alan Brogan. They have tried hard but the others around them threw in the towel in the third minute.

Re: Dublin V Kerry
As bad as the players have been, I still feel sorry for them. Obviously they aren't this bad. Alan and Bernard Brogan, Barry Cahill are class acts, I feel bad for them among others.
But I am particularly delighted for the Dublin fans. It gives me great pleasure to see them get destroyed like this. On this website and on others, they spouted out some amount of nonsense. I was ridiculed when I predicted something like this would happen. The fans are clearly deluded. And I hope that they will be issuing a few apologies to me and others for being so stupid.

I cant believe the Dublin players attitude, all laughing and smiling after the game. they dont really seem to care too much, no wonder they always get beat at quarter or semi final stage

Only said that incase it backfired. Oh well.
It now looks like this
Are Cork and Kerry the top 2 and have Tyrone slipped behind?
What Tyrone did yesterday for 10 minutes against Kildare at the start of the second half yesterday, Kerry did for a good 50 minutes. Dublin were annihilated yet again and it looks as if Gilroy has taken them backwards after watching the performance today.
What Tyrone are capable of only they know but Cork and Kerry are the only team who have stood out from the crowd so far in the semi's.

i have said it all along as well loyal. They are a decent side but not anywhere near as good as tyrone, kerry and cork. they never had a chance of winning the all-ireland.

Re: Dublin V Kerry
Dublin have won 5 Leinsters in a row. Under the old system this would probably have yielded an All Ireland, not so with the qualifiers.
Today's game was all about the boost the winners would get. Suddenly Kerry look a cert for the final.
I said at the start of the year the Dubs would do well to lose to Meath, and maybe beat a few non Leinster teams to get to the quarter. Alas they hammered Meath except on the scoreboard, and played really well to see off Kildare.
However two years in a row now they have come up against a team with something to prove in the quarters. The Dubs have made progress this year, but they still cannot compete with the big sides, and a lot of it is down to belief.
Kerry? Darragh was a revelation today, we always knew Gooch was the player of the decade, and McCarthy's return has steadied the defence.
After the weekend, Kerry will surely make the final and Cork have all the ingredients to beat Tyrone, if they have the belief in the game between the sides that have been Kerry's nemesis this decade. Maybe Cork have been one of the top sides over the last few years, just have a mental block with Kerry at Croke.

Re: Dublin V Kerry
I never doubted Kerry would be back, they were ruthless, determined and all of a sudden they have the hunger again. Dublin I think had that slight inklinkg in their head that they would get past a poor Kerry team so far in the championship. Tyrone have a championship on their hands this season. Think they will have a tough physical battle one or two red cards and injuries whereas Kerry will run Mayo/meath close just because when a team comes off the back of a huge victory they go flat which is what Dublin do time and time again. In 2010 Dublin have to forget about Leinster, maybe make the quarters and go on through the back door.
Personally I think it will be a repeat final of Kerry and Tyrone 08. Tyrone no doubt still have the talent but if Kerry play like they did today Tyrone might find it hard to cope. If they were tested yesterday against Kildare it makes Tyrone look like an oridinary team. But as Lyster said Kerry were being cute hoors, Tyrone are no doubt doing the same.
This weekend has blown the championship wide open, doubt many people will think Tyrone have it easy this season now and Tyrone fans arent gullable enough to believe that 09 would be a walk over.
Not to forget the other challengers Meath and Mayo. Totally different contest, Mayo might win this one but wouldnt write Meath off either.
Kerry, Cork and Tyrone have it all but I think that Meath and Mayo are seriously lacking and are there to make up the numbers.

And one Leinster County remained............
We are Meath, We are Mighty, We are Royalty, We are Kings.
Kerry are by no means in a final if we see off the Mayo challenge. This is a proud football county here in Meath, we shall fight until we can fight no more. There may be tears, there may be sweat, there be blood but I am confident that God's County can reign supreme.
Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi!!!!!!!
According to most this is a four horse race, BUT a Meath team written off by everyone is a Meath team to be feared.
Newgrange, Mick Lyons, The Palace, Johnny Murtagh, Herbalists, Loughcrew, Pierce Brosnan, Boyne Valley, the new M3, Graham Geraghty, Loyal2TheRoyal, Paul Carberry, The Book of Kells, Throwing Stones at Cavan People, The High King of Tara, Fairyhouse, The Battle of the Boyne.
What tradition. We shall do it for them.

Did anyone see that coming. Hold up my hands thought the dubs would win and end their kerry jinx.
First 35 mins pure class reminded me of another game invovling kerry but they were on the receiving end from meath (01 I think).
Now what for the dubs.
They are not that bad but the question about how the handle the big day out now really begin to surface

Over in HS, there has been at least thirty threads started since the game finished!
On here, you'd be lucky to get a comment!
Well I'll start off. I was not one of the people who wrote off Kerry, time has told me, you don't write off sportspeople who are proven on the biggest stage of them all. Even Pat Spillane said Kerry were a team on the ropes, a KO was inevitable. And then they produced that. It wasn't flawless but it was very very good. They took Dublin apart. The only team who would have coped with Kerry today was Tyrone. Dublin never stood a chance and when eight or nine of their players had thrown in the white flag by the third minute, it was all over for them.
Kerry demoralised them but Dublin were extremely poor. I watched Diarmuid Connolly track Marc O'Se the whole down the field at one stage without making an attempt to get a hand in, then O'Se ran round him as if he wasn't there. That typified Dublin's performance.
But like I say Kerry weren't without their flaws either, for instance Alan Brogan ran right by four Kerry defenders in the fifth or sixth minute before hitting the crossbar. Withour doubt, people will get completely carried away with this performance and it will suit the others nicely. Kerry have gone from having one last kick, possibly no kicks, in them before the game to the team everyone has to beat after the game.
Its still Tir Eoghain for me.

GAA fan, forget it, the route Dublin take has nothing to do with the fact they haven't won Sam now on 14 years, the fact is they are not good enough, every time they meet a big team they **** themselves, that's the be all and end all.

Who says lightening doesnt strike twice??????
well Jim i certainly didnt see it coming i thought Dublin would win it handy enough. When you get off to a bad start like that its hard to swing things back into your favour. Gilroy did try though, he wasnt afriad to make the changes, though i have to ask why was Sherlock taken off when the problem was obviously at the other end of the pitch, the defence gave Kerry far too much room, though in their defence the quality of the movement and the balls into the forwards and support play was top drawer stuff.
Thats two years in a row Dublin have come up against a team that have clicked on the day and no matter how much analysis you want to indulge in a certain amount of it is pure bad luck. Yes Dublin were found wanting in virtually every area of the field but what are the chances of Kerry clicking like that again. Tyrone were decidedly average against Wexford last year having hammered Dublin in the previous game.
If thats what Kerry can do to the top team in Leinster then it shows how far down the pecking order the rest of the teams in Leinster are - few teams would have lived with Kerry today.
On a lesser note the pundits on TV would give you the scour - before the match Kerry were done and no one bar Brolly possibly gave Kerry a hope in hell and now suddenly they are the dogs bollox, they have a great knack of making out they are never wrong. Spillane in particular was writing obituaries about this particular Kerry team for a while now and didnt rate them - oh how he has changed his tune now.

Re: Dublin V Kerry
Interesting that Kerry are now joint favourites with Tyrone for Sam. I'd still favour Tyrone slighty but glad all the same I got Kerry at 5-1 seeing as they're likely in the final! Can't see Meath or Mayo troubling them, but whoever gets to the final from the other side will have come through a tougher game.
Dublin just weren't as good as they were being made out to be, and I thought even a below-par Kerry would beat them. As it happened, a great, ruthless Kerry team turned up and Dublin had no chance. Time for them to start from scratch, despite all the players being used the same old players were on in the end but it made no difference. In some cases there were strange subs though which I couldn't understand. Whelan and Jayo will likely retire now, why would they stay on? They're certainly no farther towards an AI now than last year, and Leinster will be tougher next year, not that it's a meaningful title for Dublin now. You wouldn't blame the likes of Keaney, Ryan or the likes throwing their lot in with an up and coming Dublin hurling team rather than the footballers who have flattered to deceive for so long now. This was their best chance in decades of ending their Kerry hoodoo, and should have been up for it at the start, but instead let Kerry steamroll over them and didn't make any effort to stem the flow of scores for some time. The big thing is though, when the chips are down and they're struggling against a big team, they've no leaders to look to who can inspire a comeback, whereas the likes of Tyrone and Kerry etc. have them in spades. Just haven't got the quality to compete with these teams, that's the long and short of it.
