Not confident. Have been here before, seen it all explode in our faces. Not confident. Wont be going either All the hype the talk the banter, will reach fever pitch and we will come up short, again.

Re: Dublin V Kerry
The last time Dublin beat Kerry in a championship match was before I was even born, 1977 to be precise. That is 32 years of GAA tradition that Dublin will be trying to end next weekend. Not only that but Dublin have played Kerry eight times since and the most they have managed is a draw.
I fancy Kerry. Member a year ago, how this very same Dublin team were supposed to end Tyrone's suffering and then they were humiliated. Deja Vu.
It does not surprise me that JOL is worried.

Re: Dublin V Kerry
The thing about records etc is that they have to be broken at some time. There's absolutely no reason why this Dublin team won't be the ones to end this one. Dublin at a canter.

Dublin simply have to win this, no ifs buts or maybes. I actually hope they do as well. The Dublin footballers have oft reminded me of the Galway hurlers, always there somewhere but never where it really counts. Really hope they dont bottle this great opportunity like our hurlers did though.

I would tend to take these pages a little more seriously O Leary, but not as 'my life depends on it' seriously as certain other posters on here, thats for sure. I've always had Grá for dem Dubs though, ask Jayo. Sure wasn't I made an honourary Dub one night in the Cat and Cage when I used to live there.

Re: Dublin V Kerry
as a west of Ireland man, can you tell me Moss, why so much anti Dubs feeling out that way? I mean I know we are generally disliked in the other 31 counties to some extent, but it genuinely does seem that bit more "raw" out west.
Why so?

Mayos full of in inbred fooks Liamo, dont worry about them. Galway has a few funny ones as well, no doubt. The place fills up with Dubs every weekend and some leave a good impression and some dont, unfortunatly people usually tend to remember only the ones who leave a bad impression, maybe thats a reason, I dunno. Then again maybe its all in your head. Most people I know you'd find very hard to describe as anti-Dub.

are ya for real! i've never felt more confident. in fact i'm delighted we pulled them. there has never been a better time to get them. there confidence isn't exactly sky high at the mo. but then again there playin the dubs in croker, they could bring there "a" game. still tho, i dont think they can improve that much, they look wrecked . the dubs by at least three! im gonna be optimistic!

Re: Dublin V Kerry
This is one to shiten the fright outta ye as a Dub fan. You have a limp and poor Kerry team stumbling into Croker and this is the one draw that will kill or cure them.
The huge onus is for Dublin to build on what they have been doing. To believe - as someone else would say.
A win here may set up a semi against Mayo and a possible final against Tyrone. If I was a Dublin player there could be no better way of winning an All Ireland medal. But this first step is vital - if they win on Monday they will certainly play in the final - of that I have no doubt.

Re: Dublin V Kerry
have to say I agree with Lino - no better time to get Kerry - was actually hoping we would get them. They are a pale shadow of their former selves and i dont buy into this crap of Croke Park bringing out the best in them. The tail is wagging the dog as far as that team is concerned i would hazard a guess that the players are picking the team down there.
I expect Dublin to win by 6 points easy.

Would like to think so Boc - but these Kerry lads are unbeaten by us in 32 years and will go down in ignominy if we beat them - but on form we should ...

Re: Dublin V Kerry
Kerry will win.
The Dublin backs are middling bunch. If Kerry get the run on them, they will crumble. Brennan's presence will also be missed but its from 2-4 that the real weakness lies and I suspect the Kerry forwards to expose this.
Apparantly Wheelo back into midfield, sounds like they are getting desperate.
As for the forwards, well look what happened when Meath tightened things up and put a bit of pressure on them.
Dublin have beaten nothing bar a Meath team played all out of position and as per usual their fans are getting carried away. Its clear they will never learn. If Kerry are anyway decent, they will see off the Dublin threat.

i tihnk the tide has turned this year Jayo - there are major problems in Kerry and Dublin are on the up. I'd expect Kerry to be on the lookout for a new manager come Tuesday morning - i just cant see anything other than a comfortable Dublin win.

Aye but you know when you are one of the two involved it gets cloudier. And nobody saw anything but a Dub win on 16 August 08!!

Re: Dublin V Kerry
aye but can you seriously see Kerry doing that to Dublin this year i cant and can only see Dublin driving the final nail in the coffin of the Kerry team. Kerry have struggled past too many weaker teams, i know some would say we did the same last year but we were still playing decent football and there was no disharmony in the squad like there is with Kerry.
I know you tend to be a bit more cautious when its your one team involved - but i'll be amazed if Kerry win.

Of course you will. If it weren't for a few controversial sending-offs, Tyrone would have been beaten by Westmeath last year. Also there was lots of disharmony in Tyrone, most supporters were calling for Mickey Harte's head after the Down game.
It never ceases to amaze how easy people get carried away with Dublin. Time after time after time, they have reached this stage of the All-Ireland series and went to pieces every time and still, people make them favourites. This year, Gillers has worked the oracle!!!! Not a bit of it, same Dublin team as last year and same result as 2007.

Re: Dublin V Kerry
Firslty loyal there was little controversial about the sendings off both were very much merited in my book. Westmeath even with 13 men had a great chance to win the game at the death but they didnt take that chance.
Secondly i said there was no disharmony amongst the squad - i was not talking about the fans who were calling for Mickey to go.
I am not getting carried away with the Dubs at all but Kerry are very much there for the taking and in my opinion Dublin are a much stronger team than Kerry are at present and should beat them.
