Who will win?
Re: UEFA Champions League

Bloody delighted with that, and you couldn't help but be delighted when you see the antics of the Chelsea players after the final whistle, disgraceful doesn't begin to describe it.
The dream final is on, in three weeks Europes top 2 teams lock horns again!
In fairness though MMM. They had a couple of legitimate penalty chances turned down. It's fairly understandable that they would be disappointed and angry.

Oh I know RMD, certainly they had a few big shouts and can feel agrieved, but in my opinion you can't act like that. It looked like Ballack was about to push the ref while running back from the Barca box after one of the decisions and was shouting in his ear, and after the game Drogba looked as if he'd nearly hit the ref if he wasn't being pulled away, such was his aggression. I fully understand how they can feel at being robbed but how you react speaks volumes.
I have no love for Chelsea however so I will not feel as much sympathy for them as most!

Pity Souness is not on tonight. Another good row is what's needed!

Watching it on Sky and Souness is on there, absolutely gutted he is! But the craic between him and Dunphy would have been great alright! I wonder which panel he'll be on for the final?

I'd say Souness will be with Sky Sports because they go out live from the actual stadium and I doubt if he'll turn that down.

UEFA will be delighted that there isn't 2 English teams in the final. The referee doesn't deserve to be treated like that no matter how he did. The UEFA Respect campaign was created because of an incident regarding Asley Cole a few years ago and they are at it again.Altough the ref had a bad game, he was let down badly by his assistant referee.

Ah bo**ix! I just typed a message there and this heap of s***e crashed!
Chelsea's lack of ambition cost them. Playing against ten men (unfairly) for half an hour and they still sat back - it was an accident waiting to happen! I'd say Platini and Blatter are delighted!
But I fel sorry for the boys. Never mind though - they can take the Porsche out in the morning, spend €20,000 in Harrods (less than a day's wages), take the WAG for lunch (€4,000), buy her a diamond encrusted handbag and matching thong and then get the Aston Martin out in the afternoon and have a round of gold in some €100,000 a year palace before heading off to some 7 star hotel with four 18 year old wannabes, a mobile phone camera and a few bottles of Bollinger! Yep - me heart goes out to those lads .......

Totally agree with Jayo. And the ref was useless in the first game, when Barcelona were hard done by.
Could be a better final, especially as Barca have no defenders left, apart from the magnificent Pique.
How did United let him go? He passes the ball better than Scholes.

Must've been a fit of Pique .....
Mind you if Chelsea held on they were down three I think!

Puyol will be back for the final patrique, perhaps Marquez too but not sure on that. Chelsea should have had it wrapped up even without the penalties that weren't given. Can't see Utd being near as negative. But Barca will have players back too, including Henry.
Sure to be a much better game than another Utd-Chelsea final would have been but I still think Utd will prevail.

Re: UEFA Champions League
Just watching "Your on Sky Sports" and I can honestly say that if an assassination attempt was made on Gordon Brown tonight no-one would bat an eyelid such is the outrage over Chelsea. Not since Russburough House was done over has there been a more blatent robbery.
It is absolutely hilarious. They are so far from having things in perspective its scary.
They are even intimating that UEFA/FIFA are happy that its not 2 english teams in the final. We'll be hearing about it for a long time to come methinks.
I'm glad its United v Barca just to keep it interesting.

To be brutally honest lads/lasses I think Chelsea were a lot more adventurous against Barca than United were last year.
Similar pattern, but United didn't have 4 attacks to have 4 penalty shouts.
This is not a wind up, but try and remember last year.
Scholes goal, Messi making runs, setting up E'TO mostly who was doing an impersonation of a sulking Drogba.
That was about it.
So I wouldn't hold my breadth expecting an attacking final. United learnt their lesson against Real and Milan, can't beat the Europeans by relying on an open game. They are better than the English teams at that.

Re: UEFA Champions League
Gerard Pique wasn't good enough for Man Utd and was nothing more of a fringe player. He was never going to play ahead of Vidic,Ferdinand and Brown. He was at
Barcelona in his younger days anyway as was Fabregas.

Clash, I admit Rio, Brown ad Vidic combined MIGHT be better than Pique, but I am not convinced.
Calamity Rio made his name by once passing a ball out of defence. Pique's passing is sublime. Vidic can head a ball all day which is useful in England as the game resembles 1940s GAA, but his first reaction on the ground is to pull his opponent down. Brown is ok.
Obviously I am exaggerating Pique, but he looks a lot better than Rio to me.

I feel that Rio's strenghts lie in his ability to control the line and make sure everybody in the defence is doing their job, look at what happened when he was off injured in March/April. Man Utd were also lost without him in 2004.

Man United to play in white in the final as Barcelona are drawn as the home team so they will wear Red and Blue. Interestingly Man United wore white the last time they beat Barcelona in a European club final in 1991.
