Durcan made one or two pretty nifty saves - including one from Penrose in the game against Tyrone which was super. I think he also had one memorable one against Down.
Agreed. But Clarke's saves have been featured in highlights shows, and in the previews of the final, etc. Durcan's featured on the Sunday game the night of the game, and are largely ignored afterwards.
Personally, I think that Durcan deserves the award but I feel that Clarke will run him very close, in part due to Clarke's contributions getting more exposure than Durcans

I get your point, but Dublin, like Cork, were always good for 2. Cluxton was more deserving than Cadogan as the spoils were shared, but I agree with the selection committee here - it's best to share it around once in a while. No point in Cluxton taking up squatters rights.
What's your take on Tommy Walsh retaining his All-Star on the hurling team?

He hurled rightly for 25 minutes in the drawn game. Its all a matter of timing
The first 45 in that game will be forgotten. His and Henrys cameos wont

McLoughlin, Barry Moran and Anthony Thompson could feel hard done by, although a Mayo man informed me this morning that McLoughlin only played well against Down and Dublin. He was happy that Dillon deserved it before him.

Agree on Thompson and possibly Eamon McGee but only teams that won 9 were pre qualifiers
Dublin team of 70's and Kerry team of 80's - so felt that 8 would be best hope from a Donegal perspective would downside risk for McHugh and Durkan.
Dublin were going to get 1 or 2 so that was from Flynn, MdCA or Nolan -
so it was either Nolan for Keegan
or otherwise to accomodate a Dublin berth in HF's along with McHugh either Dillon or Mcloughlin had to lose out.
With a blank piece of paper they could have accomodated both and given Donegal the full HB line (mcHugh)
Other option was to have given MCGlynn a FB spot - Mchugh a HB spot and in that case it would have Cafferky that would possibly have lost out
In reality it was contest as to one Mayo player losing out from Dillon,McLoughlin,Keegan and Cafferky
