Thank God for the disclaimer. I'd start with Connolly, and move on to Dillon. And Durcan should be nailed on for the goalkeeping position. I'm a big Aidan Walsh fan, but he was cleaned out in the semi-final. Apart from that, a fair enough effort.

I forgot about MD McAuley - I'll need to rejig to find a place for him.
Other than that, I'm satisfied with my team.
I'll be very annoyed if Connolly is snubbed again. By the way his sending off - was it against Wexford where he half-heartedly boxed a player in the stomach - was made to look harsh in light of Cillian O'Connor's similiar strike this afternoon.

Micheal Murphy is a nailed on cert as is McFadden.
I would have MDMcA in midfield too. Probably the lone Dub. Big fan of Dillon but he didn't cut it y'day - though may still get one.

Paul Flynn likely to be the one Dub, would be surprised to see Aidan Walsh get one.

I'm apportoning the requisite 2 All-Stars to Cork. I know Kissane wasn't wonderful but there's a "slot" at wing back, so some Cork gimp will be awarded it.

Naw....Moran, Murphy and McFadden are nailed on here.....Personally I'd hope Cork get none at all.

I don't think Durcan is 100% nailed on for the spot, although he really should be.
Clarke's save from Brogan was one of those stand-out moments that sticks in the mind - and those who do the voting can often be swayed by one or two "highlight reel" moments than by consistent performances.

Durcan made one or two pretty nifty saves - including one from Penrose in the game against Tyrone which was super. I think he also had one memorable one against Down.

Re: Football AllStars 2012
Fair play to Donal Keoghan. He's a nice tidy corner back who had a good season while it lasted.
I'm unsure of a number of the selections, particularly that of Alan Dillon. My reservations about him are somewhere there in August, possibly in advance of the Dublin game and Sunday did nothing to change my mind.
Given the inclusion of Keoghan, surely Andy Moran was worth a shout based on game time. Accomodate Cork I suppose.
Mark McHugh is worth his place, but not at 7. Kevin McLoughlin lucky enough here.

I like the look of that side. Ger Cafferky can feel unlucky, but Keoghan was very good in the few games he played. Barry Moran was perhaps fortunate in midfield, but the options there weren't huge.
McHugh played in defence all year, so I'd say that selecting him at 7 is fairer than at 12, although the flaw is in the continued insistence of many to name sides on a 3-3-2-3-3 basis. Perhaps he should be given the no.13 jersey as, of the big sides, only Cork seem to play with 3 FFs now.

Paul Durcan (Donegal)
Paddy McGrath (Donegal) - Neil McGee (Donegal) - Keith Higgins (Mayo)
Frank McGlynn (Donegal) - Karl Lacey (Donegal) - Kevin Nolan (Dublin)
Neil Gallagher (Donegal) - Barry Moran (Mayo)
Alan Dillon (Mayo) - MD McAuley (Dublin) - Mark McHugh (Donegal)
Colm O'Neill (Cork) - Michael Murphy (Donegal) - Colm McFadden (Donegal)
McGrath in the corner is a wish more than an expectation. That meath lad will probably get it or else they'll give it to Cafferky.

Have a bit of respect RMD. The Meath lad - who do you think you are.
I don't how Cafferky can get an AllStar after his effort at catching Ciaran Kilkenny's pass to Bernard Brogan. The worst piece of defending I have seen probably all year.

No disrespect intended Loyal (as I'm sure you know). Cafferkey has been solid all year.

Re: Football AllStars 2012
Most people seem to have 8 Donegal players nailed on, which would be a good (and fair return). Those 8 are Durcan, Neil McGee, McGlynn, McHugh, Lacey, Gallagher, Murphy, McFadden.
Of the others, Thompson and Paddy McGrath were good in defence, but won't get the corner back slot. Rory Kavanagh won't get midfield either, but he would be as deserving as any of the other names I've heard mentioned.
If MDMA gets picked at midfield, that would free up a half-forward slot (assuming McLoughlin & Dillon get the other 2). In that case, I'd give consideration to Leo McLoone who, in an unspectacular way, had a consistently good year.

Joe McMahon anyone????
Thought he was very good this year again. Tyrones early exit probably hasn't helped his cause though
