Re: Mayo v Kerry
Mayo are such an unknown quantity that it really is hard to know how this semi-final will go.
Common sense says Kerry comfortably but Mayo have come from nowhere with so many new players, that it'd be foolish to completely write them off. Cork performance was very impressive and I'd suggest they'll improve again.
Kerry are easier to assess - handbrake dosen't come off until the All-Ireland series starts in August but the challenge of Limerick told us nothing either. If Mayo up it again, then it'll take a fine Kerry effort to overcome them in my opinion.

Just as a matter of interest, I will be in Lagos in Portugal pn Sunday morning. Sorry her indoors had booked a while ago as she expected Kerry to be out by now! Any knowledge of Irish bar in Lagos where match would be on?

Will Mayo fans get behind their team and travel in their droves .. or will memories of this fixture in recent times keep them away?

With RKF leaving the country the Kerry following has being decimated...

Re: Mayo v Kerry
Paul Galvin dropped.......to be replaced by Keiran O'Leary. Bit of a surprise but I guess Donnacha Walsh offers as much as Galvin and possesses a better temperament. Of course, it could just be mind games by Jack O'Connor - the naming of teams days before a champiosnhip game has become a bit of a farce this season. Gilroy and Counihan have already taken the biscuit with some of their mid-week selections.

With so many Dubs players having Kerry parentage surely you will stand in for me in return . Just a little practice. 'Come on the Kingdom you hooooors' and an odd bow towards the Gooch. Not asking for much.

Re: Mayo v Kerry
Be nice to see mayo win this and donegal win the other semi although i wouldnt be overly annoyed if dublin beat donegal as its always good to have your capital and bulk population successful in order to compete with the other sports.
I hope mayo dont bottle it i hope they show a bit of character and heart to pull this one off, the team that took the hammerings is gone, the boys more interested in brushing their hair gone, i hope mayo do well and pull this one off, they always play nice football and had it not been for their kerry voodoo should have won sam a couple of times by now, but well wait and see.

I think I have a tricky flight Sunday week. Times I think only allows me (and the jackeen family members) to watch first half.

Buy a ticket for Gerard Depardieu. If he does his stuff you should be alright to stay for the whole game ......

Re: Mayo v Kerry
Just going back to 2009, Kerry have managed to avoid the blanket defence in the All-Ireland series reasonably well - Dublin, Meath and Cork in 2009, Down in 2010, Limerick in 2011.
Bit of a co-incidence that Tyrone were able to make life so difficult so often - wonder then how Kerry will cope with Mayo's increased intensity and extraordinary level of tackling. Worth remembering Mayo have conceded 0-1 vs Galway, 0-2 vs Roscommon and 0-1 vs Cork in the second half of those games.

Hopefully the second half will be irrelevant
