Re: Rugby World Cup 2011
French camp continues to implode with Lievremont lashing his players for going out for a celebration after the semi. “I went to bed in a bad mood because I’d asked the players not to go out, and I found out a few of them had gone out. I told them what I thought of them – that they’re a bunch of undisciplined spoilt brats, disobedient, sometimes selfish, always complaining, always whining. It’s been like this for four years. The problem is we are not world champions yet and we just qualified for the final. This reminds me of 1999 when there were four days of celebration for the semi-final.”
Just the preparation you need facing the All Blacks. New Zealand at 7/1 to win by 21-25 seems a good bet to me.

Parouisa wrote:Hard to believe the French are in the Final. 2 defeats, more than a lot of teams since gone home and they are still there. Harsh call on the red I felt. Warburton did lift Clerc but didn't spear him. Stephen Jones was poor today. Wales built over 20 phases near the end without working a good drop opportunity. Ireland wouldl have nailed it I reckon. Whoever wins tomorrow will win the Final easily. Probably the Kiwis. Thats the second tournament in a row that a very poor team made the Final.
Agreed on a lot of points there, it was a red card but you have already stated that yourself on another post!
James Hook was nothing short of awful on the day for Wales and when Jones came on he wasn't much better, when you lose by a point and kick 1 from 7 then you're clutching at straws to blame the ref!
Gatland has to take a bit of the blame here for me, 3 minutes for Hook in the whole tournament then he throws him into a WC Semi and expects him to play without nerves! Jones wasn't given any real time either to be honest but i expected him to have the knowhow to go for the dropgoal when he had the chance!
I fully expect the Kiwis to win but not as handy as everyone is thinking, they feel that the French have the indian sign on them and that gets to them, i think they've knocked the Kiwis out on 3 occassions in the RWC! Same final lineup as when the comp was last in NZ (and same 3/4 place play off too interestingly) and i expect the same result! No side has won a RWC after losing a group game (if i'm not mistaken) and i think that trend will continue!

You would be correct.
New Zealand will win the final by a similar margin to that of their group win over France, 20 points give or take. They are the best side in the competition but since the Carter injury they are playing a quite conservative game where they are looking to bully teams in the forwards and bulldoze teams in the midfield and this will work a treat against France. They won't look to spread the ball around or take too mnay risks unless they are well inside the French half. Given that the French look toothless in an attacking sense it is hard to see how they are going to even get into double figures let alone enough points on the board to win it

The French team have a few miles on the clock. If New Zealand get a couple of early scores there is every chance the French heads will drop as morale is questionable and it could end up a rout.

These Frogs are useless. Scrambled over an off form Welsh side with all the conviction of a goat caught in a thunderstorm. Wales, a man down, their pack struggling vainly, kicked away the winning of it twice over...
France....

NZ 8 France 7 so far, delighted France got they try there, some disgustingly one sided refereeing on display so far!

After watching the final again, i am absolutely gutted AGAIN that we lost to Wales! I would have fancied us to beat that NZ performance in the final! I stand by my previous comments that the game was poorly refereed and completely in favour of NZ!
I have also just watched the Bristol vs London Welsh English Championship match there, what a game of rugby! Bristol scored a try and converted in the last 3 minutes to win a brilliant match 35-33, if you get a chance to look at the highlights then do so, it's well worth it!
