Round 2 of this triathlon is not concluded until next weekend when the Leinster football final is contested.
My own fault for confusing the Leinster finals.....

Cratloe gave their all, lead approaching the final whistle, but were overhauled. Would have been a glorious finale for their hurling contingent, but not to be.

I was in Nowlan Park...Incredible scenes. MLR are a big hardy team, possessed of a couple of tidy hurlers.
Their c/h/b gave an exhibition of playing the role, dominant aerially, crafty positioning and never wasted a ball. Their corner forward, Denis Murphy, gave an incredibly assured performance. Faultless from placed balls he rattled over a brace from play. It was a big occasion (and they had the bulk of the crowd support) but he kept his cool and stepped up to the plate.

Hurling Guru will be ecstatic....
