Unless the child is, God forbid, in bad health, then it is a poor reason for not turning up for work. He only has 5 games (working days) of any importance this year (4 if you don't count Italy), so you'd think he could drag himself away from the nappies for an afternoon.

With a badly parked car or for the match? A=Excellent..B=Poor enough.
Home matches on a Sunday will drag every wannabee/bandwaggoner with suede coats, burberry scarves and "foddering" hats out to cheer on the goiys. Fooking GAA heads from the Northside will be visible scoffing 'ken and uttering such alien phrases as "Heave Oireland".
You should actually travel up HG to see these socialites on a day out. 75% of them wouldn't have heard of William Webb Ellis.*
*Many would possibly ask you "Was he related to John Ellis"...............

Jonathan Sexton...
...loses rugby matches for Ireland.
Every time it's the same. Ireland lose by a tiny margin and Sexton single-handedly throws away several crucial points with his goal kicking.
Getting stupid.

Would be completely irrelevant if Sexton did the most basic aspect of the job he is expected to do.
We have the best goal kicker in the history of the tournament at our disposal yet we insist on playing a lad who is consistently failing to prove himself on the international stage and is pretty much guaranteed to crumble under pressure and throw away match-winning margins again and again and again.

But in the end it was relevant. Again, the problem with sport is the what if's, yes I am guilty of making the same suggestions but Ferris made an illegal tackle and handed wales the win. Sexton is not the only player to blame here even though I agree that he did put in a poor performance.
As with O'Gara, he should have been brought on earlier giving him three minutes was stupid, a six year old could have made this decision.
Re: The Rugby Thread
Sexton played well today and if you were to make a list of the reasons as to why we lost today his goalkicking would be a long way down the list.
The fact that our two centre's were terrible defensively in second half and bounced off tackles and that we left George North and Mike Phillips bully us and gate 5 yards every time before they met a tackler were far bigger contributing factors to defeat.
Should have won the game but left it behind us

Maybe the missed tackles by McFadden and O'Connell cost us the match?
Decided to go up after and very luckily got a ticket. Great day bar the result, only a slim glimmer of hope left to win the 6 nations.

Re: The Rugby Thread
No answer to the physical power of the Welsh backs. North, Davies, Roberts and Phillips just ploughed their way forward.
If they had handed Halfpenny the kicking duties from the off they would have been out the gate earlier.
The Irish midfield, McFadden and Darcy, couldn't tackle a big dinner between them, never mind a few big Welsh mucksavages.....

Re: The Rugby Thread
The lack of brains in our performance was the biggest disappointment for me. We have guys who are on fire for their provinces yet when they put on a green jersey they look half the players they are. What was our game plan yesterday? I couldn't work one out - and our tactical kicking was shocking. Ferris has no complaints about his stupid act - a clear peno. But we had the ball in the 78th minute and unbelievably kicked it straight down a Welsh throat - again - not even into touch. We were getting great success from pick and drive and all we had to do was build 20 phases or so and run down the clock - and we kick the fooking ball away - madness. Wales ran at us all day from broken play and are two points down - it was clear what they were going to do - and they did it - shocking. The Welsh second try too was a carbon copy of RWC - lovely lineout ball off the top and then walk over tacklers thirty yards out. Jon Davies is some player though. I have serious reservations about Kidney at this stage.

Re: The Rugby Thread
What does everyone think of Ferris being cited?
I'm not surprised to be honest. In the context of how ridiculous the Davies tackle was, I think the commissioner has no choice. They can't very well come out with the no tolerance line and then say that Ferris has no case to answer.
I reckon Ferris will get 2-4 weeks for not taking care. By the letter of the law he put his waist above his head. He never had a good hold of him, and should have taken more care.
He might have been ok, had the week that's in it not required a strong message on tip tackles from the governing body. Davies should have the book thrown at him. It was an off-the-ball incident because he didn't like the competition at the break down from Ryan.
Donnacha Ryan could be in line for a start at 6 if Ferris is banned

Doubt he would put Ryan at Six against a very mobile French back row. It will be O'Brien to 6 and O'Mahoney or Jennings to 7 i'd say

Yeah Ferris was always going to get cited. Couldn't understand the boos for the peno either - the way the rules are it was clear cut enough. Daft thing to do and cost us the match.

Jennings hasnt a hope of being in 22 unless their is several more injurys, not international standard IMOThe Puke wrote:ormond lad wrote:What does everyone think of Ferris being cited?

Misconception that donnacha ryan is to slow. He'd do fine against that french backrow
Wouldnt like to give O Mahony a first international start in paris, one of the toughest places around to get your first international start

There is far more chance of O'Brien moving to 6 and Jennings coming in than Ryan starting at 6. I agree that Jennings isn't up to this level either but Donnacha Ryan is not up to playing 6 at test match level either. I would throw O'Mahoney in but doubt it will happen
