Golf has a ranking system
His rating (9th in the world) is determined by this
It is not really possible to be over-rated unless of course you disagree with the system
Do you disagree with the system ?
ie it only applys over two years .
It applys averages rather than total
certain events are weighted etc

Maybe so Jayo, but he looked solid enough again today. And with Paddy Power paying placed for top 7, at 250/1 I'll still do OK for myself hopefully!

Jays that was a fine pre-tournament pick BB! Leading by 4 going into the final day, not bad!

Re: The Open Championship 2010
Fairly random to be honest, I always look at the longer odds players for a pick out of interest, seen him a couple of times, he won the Irish amateur stroke play a few years ago at Royal Dublin links and he won in Europe earlier in the year so it kind of popped out at me.

No, he is far from over rated. He might under perform, but the main reason for that is the fact that he is so good that he cannot "manage" a round. He just sees it and hits it, because normally i is easy.
McDowell said McIlroy is that good he expects him to win EVERY tournament, but that McIlroy lacks the experience to appreciate that things sometimes go wrong.
Look at him today, doing great but then tries to force it at the 17th, one of the most difficult holes in golf.
Quite simply McIlroy is the most talented Irish golfer ever. Whether his wins will reflect that is another thing.......

Re: The Open Championship 2010
Fair play BB for that selection and he won't be far off - not as far as I predicted yesterday! That was coming from a man who stuck a large wedge on Jean Van Der Velde with a few holes to play on the Sunday ...... and got 'burned' when he turned up the trouser legs.
I like the look of Canizares cos Oosthuizen will never have experienced the pressure he will tomorrow. That said he bogeyed the first today and recovered more than well.

Well done Mr Oosthuizen and well done Bermuda Bomber - great touch there!
McIlroy must be kicking himself over his Friday round though! 63, 69, 68 ruined by a horrible 80!!

Re: The Open Championship 2010
In the betting w/o Oothuizen and Casey, McIlroy was 16/1 1/4 odds for the first 3 places so it was places 3-5.
