Twenty20 world cup
Ireland held England to 120 in their 20 overs just now. Ireland will be batting shortly. An amusin victory in sight?
oh..hang on...Ireland's last game was against Afghanistan. They lost.

Re: Twenty20 world cup
Ah now Sami, you're usually spot on with your posts but this one is a little off! Last game was West Indies where we bowled/fielded superbly and batted atrociously. Again the bowling and fielding was superb today (George Dockrell looks the business and he only 17), the rain has it off at the moment, all it takes is one batsman to have his eye in and we'll have a good shout of winning. It would be a fully deserved win if we could hopefully manage it, and I had a cheeky bet 2 months ago on Ireland winning. Fingers crossed!
And Afghanistan are a quality side!!

I'll be keeping an eye on it as the evening progresses. Hardly seems fair that we're naff at batting when England poached our best batter

Yeah agreed! He is some talent, he plays shots that don't even have a name, he is some talent. And they stole Ed Joyce a few years ago too, our top batter at the time.
They were even saying on Sky that Dockrell looks like he might be a future England player.

A joke of a competition. Jaysus it only takes about two hours per match - surely they could refix them?

Re: Twenty20 world cup
Yeah I don't understand that. And sure Ireland played there under lights on Friday, yet there was a cut off point of 4.45 for the game to restart??
Someone at the ICC really screwed up in fixing games in Guyana during rainy season. Jokers.

Like most world cups who gives a ****.....
We should take a leaf out of the yanks book and start calling the AI Series the World Series of Football.
We could have a world series in Hurling /Football/Camogie/Rounders and Ladies Football
