Twenty20 tournament!
Well done to the Irish cricketers. For the last 5-6 years, they have consistently outshone our soccer stars and our highly over-rated rugby team. Already, the cricketers' achievements have dwarfed the Grand Slam or a draw with Bulgaria, a pity we couldn't have recorded an historic victory over New Zealand yesterday but to even reach the Super Eights is something else. Well done to all the lads representing their country at Trent Bridge, lets hope they can continue to defy the odds.

We could beat Pakistan Sami? Don't think we'll beat Sri Lanka?
The O'Brien brothers and Trent Johnson are names that don't get near enough credit in this country.

And what about John Mooney?
Johnson, Mooney & O'Briens are certainly using their loaf to slice up the opposition but I think Irish cricket kneads more dough .......

There's nothing quite like the th'wack of willow on leather Samin10, it's a game of skill and knowledge that some people just don't.......................oh i give up, i think it's crap too! Lets get back to talking about more important things like how Ulster are the bane of the GAA and should be banned!!!

Just because we don't like cricket? Catch yourself on man, if we all like the same thing it'd be a boring board eh?

I quite like the old cricket old boy. Nothing like a day on the terraces quaffing a Pimms No 1 and enjoying the chess like intrigue unfolding before me - whether it be the nightwatchman, silly mid-off or a bit of tasty sledging!
But Ed Joyce playing for England ---mmmm - and worse again Dublin born and bred Eoin Morgan playing for England in the ICC World Twenty20 - NNNNOooooooooooooo - NOT ON AT ALL AT ALL!!!

I wonder do the English feel the same about all their players playing for Irish soccer team down through the years?

You mean you dont want to come out with something you know is wrong just to get a rise?? John Aldridge i would say would have got games for England, Ray Houghton and Aidan McGeady for Scotland to name a few.

Pimms? Chess like intrigue? Jayo, you've obviously never sat in the Eric Hollis stand at Edgbaston come 4.30pm in the afternoon, it'd give Falaraki a run for it's money!

Re: Twenty20 tournament!
Cricket, played by louts, miners, pitmen, labourers, tough as nails types. The sort who reject soccer and rugby as being for softies.
Also followed by the working classes.
Administered by the toffs, just like soccer and rugby.
A serious game of skill, where the beginner wouldn't last one ball against an average pub player, unlike say soccer were a beginner could tap in a goal in the premiership.
But you need to understand the game.
This Twenty 20 is rubbish, test cricket is the game. Most exciting sport after hurling.
If it was a choice of India V Australia in a test or Tyrone V Derry in Ulster, I know which one I would be watching as a spectacle.

Re: Twenty20 tournament!
Jimmy Cricket was born in the shadow of Casement Park and as a teenager hung about the Palm Grove cafe beside the White Fort pub, across from Casement.
In those days people went to cafes, I later graduated to the Palm Grove myself.
