David Moran coming home
No surprise really, didn't think he was that suited to the game.
Great news for Rahillys and good news for Kerry.

Which article is that? I have read a fair bit on this and can't see anything between any lines. He probably had a bit of a look at Australia and realised that it wasn't a patch on the Kingdom.

That was my take on it too Boc. Comments that Nixon made a few days ago about him having a 'laid-back' personality or something like that. Still far from convinced on this guy, despite the rave reports about him for the last few years.

Ya apparently his bad habits followed him over. The rave reports about him have been around for a couple of years now, he showed an awful lot of promise as a young footballer. Time he got his head straight and less of the socialising if he wants to start for Kerry.
If he wants to stick to socialising we'll send him to up to your parts RMD!

It's not that simple Triona! We don't just accept any layabout you know. They have to have shown commitment and dedication to their socialising and not just be having a laugh.

Re: David Moran coming home
I've read a few reports saying the same thing, they wanted to offer him a one year deal as opposed to the International Rookie deal offered to the other recruits but this wasn't just down to his ability as suggested over here but down to his application and attitude off the pitch.
It's a pro game and a club like St Kilda won't stand for anyone who wants to burn the candle at both ends, some clubs will but not with a player from Ireland who has just taken up the sport!

Lads lets be fair to David. His Dad was very ill earlier in the year and thankfully looks like he has made very good recovery. That is why management did not use David very often although remained in the panel as he had other things on his mind. He will be a major player next year.

Re: David Moran coming home
Fair play RKF - thats a hard thing for a young lad to deal with.
Incidentally the brother was in Kerry on holidays a few years back and used to slip out for a few pints of a night. Gooch's Da - since died quite young (RIP) - used to be in the bar and the brother chatted to him a good few nights. This was when Gooch was just coming to the fore. The bro said his Da was a lovely guy - no BS at all - a good laugh and a nice man. I remember Gooch understandably struggled around that time. Not the thing a young lad wants to be dealing with at all.

RKF - with all due respect i think thats a bit of a get out for Moran - if it was affecting him that much perhaps its better to turn down the offer and be at home for his father

Bocerty. As I said his dad was ill earlier in the year. He had recovered by August-September and is in good health now, hence David coming on as sub in final and heading to Australia.
