Re: Will Ireland win
Yeah but England got f***ed over in the quarter finals. Thats why we all laughed.
Re: Will Ireland win
Yes Thierry may find it ok to do that kind of thing but when Renault realise that their car sales in Ireland have zeroed they will dump the Main man (main is French for hand ). That'll learn them!!
And what about the linesman not seeing the offside? Well I tell ye now he is enjoying his bad eyesight in the Moulin Rouge as we speak and it isn't a flag he's sticking up either ....

Re: Will Ireland win
Juts checked the BBC website and Thierry Henry is saying yes it was a handball but he isn't the ref, so basically he's blaming the ref for his cheating. Funny I didn't see the ref making him handball it, I did see an inpet linesman mind! What a coward Henry is though, at least be a man and take responsibilty for you own actions!
I wish he was still at Arsenal, I'd love to see him at the Emirates when Wolves go down there, then maybe I could blame the ref for my actions.

He's just joined the noble triumvirate of dodgy goalscorers, himself, Maradonna and Seamus Darby.
Eternal fame, we'll be talking about this in 20 years (well some of you will).

Re: Will Ireland win
Lads, Henry cheated by handling the ball.
Robbie Keane handled the ball 4 (FOUR) times, but he was caught cheating.
Poor Georgia were CHEATED at Croke by an outrageous penalty.
These things happen.
All soccer players are cheats.

He wasn't that inept, as he flagged a VERY close effort off side just before the goal.

Also disgarceful that FIFA don't mention the handball in their match report - of course this resukt is fine for as they wanted France through all along. I'm losing all respect for football.

Just noticed that on the FIFA website Sami, total disgrace that they haven't even noted the goal as being controversial!
Ah well, just shows that they got the result they wanted didn't they? Pity really as the Irish would've brought at least twice the number of fans the French would have!

Re: Will Ireland win
The blame for this disgraceful situation should be allocated in the following order:
1. Linesman - missed a BLATENT offside.
2. Linesman - missed a very obvious handball. The ball suddenly changed its traectory from going out over the line to heading accross and goal and the only thing nearby was Henrys hand. Hmmm I wonder what could have happened.
3. Ref - missed a very obvious handball. See #2. Even if he didn't see the contact, how did he think Henry changed the direction of the ball?
4. McShane - he let Henry round his back and obviously didn't know that he was there as he let the ball go.
5. Henry - for cheating.

6. FIFA for seeding the draw, changing their original decision to have an open draw!

Re: Will Ireland win
I am convinced that the referee presumed the Irish players were saying Gallas handled the ball to score. The goal looked dubious and his shoulder thrust out towards the ball - I think he put it in with the top of his shoulder - but not a handball.
When the players ran at the ref shouting handball he said he was 100% sure it wasn't. I am sure that he thought they were accusing Gallas as he clearly didn't see Henry's actions. Would like to hear his views.

The FAI have launched a complaint with FIFA. We will now see if FIFA stick by their Fairplay campaign or will they show they don't actually mean it.

1. Denial — Surely we're not going to be put out like this?
2. Anger — Those crowd of cheating bas****s.
3. Bargaining — Can we not demand a replay or something?
4. Depression — Feck it. Why bother following this team?
5. Acceptance — Ah, such it life. We enjoyed it while it lasted and we'll look forward to the European championships.

Has someone done a teacher training course? Or perhaps studied the factors into managing complex change?
