Will Ireland win
Can Ireland win this weekend and set us up for a great 2010? Yes we have it tough - playing against the former World Champions, littered as they are with big names. A country that loves its sport but where the manager and players can come under tremendous pressure. We have a good manager who has won nearly everything in the game at all levels and players who have been around and know what its about. Croke Park will be full to capacity - an expectant crowd ready to cheer their heroes on! I can't wait!
Come on Drico, Pauly and the lads - lets stuff these Aussies!!

Yes absolutely I am. How did you know that. And I am having highlights this evening as well!
Are you related to the goalkeeper because Cluxton is an unusual name?

Re: Will Ireland win
oh - and on the matter of the soccer game, I can't see much of a chance for us. Too many non-Dublin players in the Irish team now. Time was there was only the off token culchie - now we have loads of them and look at the state of us. Even the English born lads were better. Hunt (Hull!!!!!!!) & Doyle (Wolves top scorer with one) & O'Sh*t .. I mean O'Shea, Waterford-Wexford types, Mc Shane - Wicklow for God's sake, Given - goalie (Donegal where even the GAH players can't catch the ball, St Ledger (is that not a horse race Loyal?) ...... ah well. Best of luck anyway lads!

Jody hadn't scored a league goal for 86 years and then scores two in 4 seconds or something - amazing - and then follows up with another in the next game. His mother Fanny is rightly proud. I loved his celebrations too - he hadn't a clue what to do. He had forgotten how to score a goal!!! I think his nose started bleeding. But I propose we adopt Wolves as the Tipster team for this season! C'mon the Wanderers - get some Viagra and stay up!

The first man to win 100 England caps was also a Wolves player I think. His name escapes me ...coughs...

Re: Will Ireland win
An Irish qualification for this porter-fest would be a National disaster..
As we attempt to struggle off our knees, the thoughts of man-hours lost through "supporting the lads" is just un-thinkable.
An aggregated 0-5 for the sake of the nation is the best long-term result IMO.

Skiving off work (if you had it), ugly scenes with porter filled louts acting the maggot, Governmental junkets to wherever it is, nut-cases mortgaging their already topped out gaffs to attend and throw in the domestic violence issues that peak during these events about sum up my thoughts on this forthcoming bore-fest.*
* I'm allowing for your tender years here Sami, the country is bad enough without this.

Maybe we could arrange some way of leaving the politians stranded out there, they would fit in nicely with the likes of Robert Mugabe.

On 2fm in the mornings there is a regular slot from a comedian pretending to be a south Dublin snob and this morning he was saying it would be great if Ireland qualified as there would be a crime free month in Dublin!

i see Chelsea are suing the FA because Frank Lampard pulled a thigh muscle in training as a result of the plane to Qatar being too small and cramped and he had no leg room.
Good fooking job Roy Keane wasn't on that plane
