All Ireland Q/Fs
How do we see the draw going tomorrow for the quarter finals - either way there are going to be some interesting ties thrown up.
Heres my prediction for the Q/Fs
Meath v Kildare
Rocommon v Dublin
Tyrone v Cork/Limerick
Kerry v Down/Sligo

I am probably the best predictor on here but I'm not psychic.
One predictions competition I will refrain from taking part.

Kerry cant get Roscommon as they are both provincial winners and Kildare cant get Down/Sligo as they are both on the qualifiers side of the draw.

OMAR am i not right in thinking Tyrone cant get Down as they have already met in the championship, the same way Kerry cant get Cork and Roscommon cant get Sligo if they make it through.

Im fairly sure its only if it is the province winners versus the beaten finalists (as per Wallchart on GAA website)
ie Limerick cant draw Kerry
Sligo can't draw Roscommon
All other possibilities would stand

Re: All Ireland Q/Fs
To twist this a bit - and ask what draw would maximise GAA revenue here.
Gotta be
Dublin v Meath (fairly full Croker)
Tyrone v Down (full Clones)
Kerry v Cork (ful Munster venue - Semple?)
Kildare v Roscommon (Early connection - fairly full Portlaoise)
Am I cynical?

Re: All Ireland Q/Fs
I am not looking forward to this draw at all. I can see us struggling no matter whom the oppisition is. Our best bet would probably be Kildare or Down.
My prediction:
Meath v. Cork
Roscommon v. Dublin
Kerry v. Down
Tyrone v. Kildare
My prediction:
Meath v. Cork
Roscommon v. Dublin
Kerry v. Down
Tyrone v. Kildare

I'd say that all quarter finals will be in Croker Jayo but I suppose if the Dubs are drawn against Roscommon the whole country will all say - FIX!!!
Having looked at Royal girls selection I'd say the GAA would be happy enough with that and a bumper weekend of turnstiles clicking more regular than in recent times
Dublin V Roscommon (possible bank holiday monday fixture maybe, fairly full croker and Dubs guarenteed to progress to semi final = Full house Croker V Tyrone in late August)
Meath V Cork
Kerry V Down - (Double header on the sunday with a fairly full Croker and bags of history from bygone years for analysts to get their teeth into)
Tyrone v Kildare (All white on saturday night? possibly a minor fixture thrown in for good measure - Tyrone V Kerry minors perhaps)
Not long to wait now

Re: All Ireland Q/Fs
Why are they showing highlights of louth and dublin when it will be on tv3 tonight? i think it a little suspicious so that they get the big teams into the semi's. Whats the bets that Meath get Cork and Roscommon get Dublin.

It'd be unfortunate for Cork but to be fair to the GAA, it makes it more exciting for all if the big teams make it into the semis.

Because like them or loath them, the people of this country love watching the Dubs

In fairness i dont see it Loyal, Meath are a nice team can play flashes of football but i think there is a vast difference of quality between them Cork, Tyrone and Kerry. They might be lucky and get Down, but if Cork Dublin or Kildare got them they'd be very happy

Don't agree that it's handy JC. We're without Galvin, Tomás, a decent midfield (which Down should dominate), backs to stop the likes of Coulter and Clarke.........Down will be quietly confident and rightly so!
