Re: The Stephen Cluxton Thread
I think he is still the best all right but not by as much as he used to be. Mistakes are becoming too common with him IMO.

Was poor against Tyrone alright to be fair RMD, as bad as I have seen him in fact, BUT, still, no keeper comes near him all round for me. he has it all (apart from one hairy kick out in every game!)

Re: The Stephen Cluxton Thread
all teams with FARRRR superior defences to Dublins Paul......!!!
Who is the better keeper, shay given or Van Der Sar?
But who has conceded more? Why?
Taylor or Vidic.....
get me????

Re: The Stephen Cluxton Thread
Yes it is also based on the defence. But to say no other county has a goalkeeper as good as Cluxton is just wrong. I have got nothing against Cluxton I rate him highly but he just isnt the best there is.

Re: The Stephen Cluxton Thread
Shay Given, Van Der Sar, Reina, Chec.
Seriously tho.
Hearty is better when he isnt busy being clumsy, like Cluxton he can take forwards on one on one.
Dublins weakness is their defence granted. But when Dublin meet a team that has a foward line that can pack a punch Dublin are (Didnt censor) F****d.
Look at your record against Armagh and Tyrone last season
You conceeded 6 goals and only scored 2 in return.

Re: The Stephen Cluxton Thread
totally agree paul, but its cos we have no full back and no natural corner backs. not stevies fault, put it to u this way, 20 seconds to go, all ireland final, ure up 2 points , the other team are (a) one on one with your keeper or (b) dropping a free short on purpose, i wouldnt swap cluxton for hearty, coulter, devine, mcconnell, connaughton, Murphy or any other keeper in ireland, now od ever, yep i said ever, incl John O'Leary, Charlie Nelligan, Mickey McQuillan or anyone!

Re: The Stephen Cluxton Thread
At the risk of serious backlash, Cluxton has not been the same since the Kerry game in 2007.
Before that, he was the best by far but since then, he has been lacking confidence and has made some errors at crucial times.
A few years ago, he was the best GAA 'keeper by miles but now in my opinion (although I rate him highly) there are others catching up with him, Connaughton for example.
