Cluxton chins McAteer ...
I see Stephen Cluxton chinned Trigger in a charity game yesterday. Uppercut I think it was. Outrageous! Flooring the man who netted against the Dutch in 2001 and ultimately sent us to the 2002 World Cup ... via Saipan.
I hope Giller comes down heavily on Cluxton. Lifetime ban - no less!

Re: Cluxton chins McAteer ...
typical dublin attitude - make a joke of a very serious incident because it involves one of your "stars". This was common assault and cluxton should be arrested and charged. No room in sport for this type of thug. And it was a charity game as well??

Re: Cluxton chins McAteer ...
Won't go for the mock outrage but to do that in a charity match is a bit of a low act. He's fallen in my regard (which I know will affect him deeply).

"Trigger" McAteer getting decked by Stephen Cluxton at charity soccer game in Santry
Anyone see this? Suppose to be a set up but I doubt it. Have to say I laughed when I heard!

Get off yer high horses. There was noting underhand about this uppercut! As for Charity - would anyone have heard about it only for Stepho's actions? McAteer was mouthing at it all day - like he was again on the radio this morning. Maybe they should get Rooney over for the next one and let Cluxton put some badly needed manners on him ....

Isn't Cluxton doing one of those Celebrity boxing gigs ?
Seems like a good way of getting a bit of free publicity

Have you some proof of this mullins? If so you should give it to the guards, if not then maybe you should stop talking sh1t. Your allegation should be removed by administrators as it is libelous.
And Jayocluxton, you have shown yourself up to be just a nacker, as i always suspected i must say. So its ok to give someone a punch in the face at a football match?? No wonder everyone hates the dublin nacks

Good lad ya, great answer. I hope cluxton gets a good box to the head himself during one of the matches in the summer. We ll see the change of attitude from the dubs then when ye're all crying and bitching about it

Whiter than White -ah well don't worry we will never forget the antics of your fans attacking a Dublin player on a night out -As for knackers not many supporters have stooped to that level....

You're representing the GAA in a Charity Game in Dublin and your man is mouthing off, do you:
(a) Ignore him because it is a charity game spectacle
(b) Vent frustration by going in hard in a few tackles
(c) Swing at him like a petulant 5 year old and show that you are as a poor a sportsman as your soccer counterparts.
If a Cavan player did this I would be genuinely embarrassed.

He should be grand as Mayo are unlikely to be anywhere near Croker this year and anyhow once he stays outta Coppers he'll be fine .....

Re: Cluxton chins McAteer ...
I think its a disgrace.
McAteer is able to go on radio a few hours latter to give out about it - A once in a life time oppurtunity to get a swing at a the wash and go poster boy and he couldn't even hit him hard enough to shut him up.

Absolute belter!! Take my hat off to Cluxton for his actions. I see Marty Clarke has also commented that this years Dubs are harder than anything he met even in the AFL. Don't think Cluxton would be any match for Big Packie all the same!
