This is the thread you need. No matter what the query. No matter how big or small. No matter how silly or academic. No matter how bizarre, how gruesome, how strange - you will be given an answer in less than 24 hours.

If it is very personal you can PM and then it will be printed when you log off ... Twisted Evil Laughing

It will not be possible to provide answers such as the amount of bubbles in an Aero or the number of grains of sand in the Sahara or tomorrow night's Lotto numbers!

But all reasonable questions will be dealt with ... so post away - and read the small print!

IMPORTANT: This email is intended for the use of the individual
addressee(s) named above and may contain information that is
confidential, privileged or unsuitable for overly sensitive
persons with low self-esteem, no sense of humour or irrational
religious beliefs. If you are not the intended recipient, any
dissemination, distribution or copying of this email is not
authorised (either explicitly or implicitly) and constitutes an
irritating social faux pas. Unless the word absquatulation has
been used in its correct context somewhere other than in this
warning, it does not have any legal or grammatical use and may be
ignored. No animals were harmed in the transmission of this
email, although the yorkshire terrier next door is living on
borrowed time, let me tell you. Those of you with an overwhelming
fear of the unknown will be gratified to learn that there is no
hidden message revealed by reading this warning backwards, so
just ignore that Alert Notice from Microsoft: However, by pouring
a complete circle of salt around yourself and your computer you
can ensure that no harm befalls you and your pets. If you have
received this email in error, please add some nutmeg and egg
whites and place it in a warm oven for 40 minutes. Whisk briefly
and let it stand for 2 hours before icing.

If it better to run or walk through the rain if you want to stay as dry as possible?

Why do people fee it's ok to excavate their noses when they are sitting in traffic? We can still see you!

It is better to stay indoors ....

Why do people fee it's ok to excavate their noses when they are sitting in traffic? We can still see you!

It is a nervous disposition caused by sitting in traffic and inhaling car exhaust fumes ..

If a tree falls in the forest and there's no-one around to hear it, will it still make a loud noise?

In autumn no - the fallen leaves will cushion it and thus reduce the amplification. In the summer yes unless its in Ireland where it will make a large squelching noise - especially in August.

1. How come if I ever get sick I bring up what appears to be lots and lots of carrots even though I might not have eaten a carrot for over a fortnight preceeding my regurgitation? Do carrots stay in your stomach for longer or what?

2. I own a field. How high up do I also own? If a plane flies over my field, am I within my rights to shoot it down for trespassing?

No. It is a little known fact that a disgruntled member of the Bachelors family (of tinned peas and carrots fame) follow around drunk people and when they pass out pour a tin of the stuff down their gullets. The inevitable regurgitation has put many off tinned peas and carrots for life and indeed the 'reputation' of these fine veg has suffered in tandem - hence the disgruntled non-inheritor has punched large holes in the profit margin of his extended relatives. His entire motive.

Google have chosen to highlight the abodes of those famous www site owners. In years to come an icon of your front door across the web with appropriate citation will be the equivalent of the plaques you see on doors now saying 'so-and-so lived here in 1835'.

You own as high as you can throw a stone of 2lb weight (approx 1 kg). You are unlikely to bring a plane down with this missile hence the statutory position as outlined in Common Law of 1612, 2 (b) (ii).

It depends on where it happens. If it happens in the West or Donegal a strapping young male will (eventually) help the sheep to its feet.

In other areas it is largely dependent on the length of the sheeps neck and its ability to wriggle. The longer the neck length and the better the wriggleability the longer the wait for death as more grass can be consumed staving off the unfortunate but inevitable arrival of the grim reaper (not to be confused with the aforementioned guys).

why did something resembling a small black insect live in the screen of my laptop for several days, running around and being a nuisance, before disappearing just as mysteriously as it appeared?

Well Sammy it sounds very much to me as if you are experiencing 'floaters' for the first time (not the ones that don;t flush).

You will be relieved to hear that these are very common and completely harmless and are not associated with glaucoma or any other ocular disorder.
They represent tiny clumps of dead cells which originally come from the layers of tissue at the back of the eye and 'float' about in the fluid in the centre of the eyeball itself.

You will always tend to notice them more when you are looking at a bright background and when you attempt to focus on them they will continue to drop out of your line of vision as you look straight ahead or dart from side to side quickly as you move your eyes.
They gradually increase in numbers as the years go by but most people simply get used to them and hardly notice them. They will not affect your vision in any significant way.

Hmmmm Sammy. Could it be that you are overusing punctuation? You may be suffering from a rare form of compulsive behaviour known colloquially as 'periodomania' where the keyboard operator continually punches the full stop without even noticing. It should come to a full stop soon.

You will be lucky to get it anywhere near Dublin - something to do with our sophisticated taste I believe. But its widely available elsewhere ........ Laughing
