GAA to support RWC bid
93% of delegates voted in favour of a RWC bid. A generous offer to allow the IRFU use GAA stadiums to host a World Cup. But have we thought about the potential impact on our own games?
Recently I've seen a lot of youngsters in our own club choosing to play rugby and soccer. By all means, this is a choice for the individual themselves, however are the GAA handing the IRFU the perfect opportunity to market rugby?
We all want to see our sports stars do well be we GAA followers, soccer followers or rugby followers. But GAA delegates should only be concerned with the GAA when making their own decisions.
Perhaps money is the main driver in this.
