Who will support at South Africa 2010?
FIFA World Cup...who will you support?
The hand of Thierry Henry has, of course, ensured Ireland won't be taking part in South Africa this summer; so which nation has the backing of GT members in their quest for world glory?
Enjoyed a holiday in the sun last year so rooting for Spain?
Can't get enough of the beautiful game played the way it should be and going for Brazil?
Like a bit of spaghetti and backing Italy?
Amazed by Messi and following Argentina?
Wanting a home win from South Africa?
Or maybe a first win for an an African nation?
Like a bit of the USA? Mexico? Holland? GERMANY!?
Or will you be supporting.... *cough*...England???!!!

Dont care who wins it as long as it isn't England or France.

As always, Italy.
I remember dancing around the pub in 1990 and then remembered the treacherous devils up here were supporting an Saor Stata. Lucky there were only about 300 of them.
I doubt if Italy will do well.

Re: FIFA World Cup...who will you support?
As per usual I hope that England start poorly with maybe two draws or a narrow win and a bad defeat leaving them with 2 or 3 points after the first two group games. Then all will come right and they will qualify easily for the knock outs with Rooney getting a hatrick and Beckham scoring a 50 yard free kick wondergoal. This will be followed up with impressive victories in the next two rounds with Rooney now being proposed for the Throne and John Terry as Prince of Wales. The media hype will be at feverpitch as they draw Germany or Argentina in the semi Final.
The tabloids will of course be re-enacting DDAY, The Invasion of Normandy, The belgrano, the bombing of Dresden and 1966 on the front pages. William and Harry will have turned up at this stage with Replica jerseys with Mum2010 on the backs and will be joining the other 50,000 brits in the crowd singing Badiel and Skinners new catchy tune than involves a crouch robotic dance. Posh will have her best sunglasses on and URI geller will be sending good vibrations to Rooneys suspect Metarsal.
And then the semi final 2-0 up at half time, Terry gets a yellow card for bringing down Klose and then reacts to a Ballack pat on the back and gets red -goal from the free kick and then another goal in the last minute where a clear offiside is missed by a French linesman. The of course the Penos with Rooney and Beckham
the players to miss.
Any further than the semi final is too close for comfort

Would like to see Holland and Australia doing well, also like Argentina. Would love to see England meeting any one of Argentina, Portugal or Germany at 2 round or quarter final.

Re: FIFA World Cup...who will you support?
Not forgetting Jim Beglin feeling that we can win this one and the ever excited ITV commentators with their xenophobic comments and sweepingly general statements about Johnny Foreigner. Back to the studio to a host of the best players ever never to win the World Cup - all English - opining that there is no reason why we cannot win the competition cos its in South Africa and our players are well used to playing with African players. At half time and 0-2 down to Algeria there will be tears, aye tears - and much gnashing and weeping of teeth! Then they will have a couple of Johnny Foreigners in the studio with less English than Gazza (eg Desailly or Leonardo) who will be given a realistic unjingoistic view and will so be ignored. Then we will probably have another Irish international down on the pitch with a failed English manager telling us what went wrong ............. can't wait!

tough group for Ghana: Germany, Serbia, Australia.
A potential second round tie against England should the finish runner-up to Germany (and should England win their group).

I always love the BBC tactic of getting a well known but now retired Johhny foreigner in any sport you want to comment at the sports review of the year awards about England/Britains chances as the upcoming World champioship/World cup etc etc
E.g Becker/Mcenroe talking about Henmans chances of a Grand Slam win
Michael Johnson taking about Britains excellent hopes in the 400m
Evander Holyfield talking about Harrisson
Shane Warne saying that the Poms are crap etc etc

But the greatest moments in sports punditry have to be any involving Ian Wright when England have just lost on penalties
