Dublin v Kildare
This looks like it could be a cracker. Two very fit teams - athletic and physically strong. Kildare inclined to handpass the ball to death - Dublin kick passing in to forward line a lot - thank God! Two Brogans and Connolly will take some stopping and there are definitely goals in this team. McGeeney will feel this is the time for Kildare to show the work they have been putting in over his 3 years there and knows that a win will make them hot favs for the Delaney Cup.
Dublin MF still unsettled but Kildare without Dermot Earley this season. They are unlikely to be as profilgate as v Meath and if the Dublin defence can get to grips with Kavanagh, Doyle Callaghan and O'Flaherty I expect a blue win.
I reckon the footballers will not like to see the hurlers steal a march on them by getting to a provincial final and this could be good motivation. Dublin abú!

Dublin have a few injury problems leading into this game..Really hard one to call will be interesting to see what type of team were going to start...
Would it be a disaster to lose this one.....

Re: Dublin v Kildare
And probably with this in mind Gilroy has strengthened his attack by calling up both Miceál McCarthy (St Sylvester's) and Marc Schutte (Cuala), both of whom were in action in Saturday's challenge game up in Bohernabreena.
McCarthy, having twisted his knee in a league game on Wednesday, made a full recovery to register 2-6 in the practice match.
And his display didn't go unnoticed by Gilroy who singled out the young Syls forward for special praise afterwards.
'Miceál McCarthy has only been with us for a month or so, but he is really starting to get a grip of things
'His movement on the ball was very good and he got a few scores there today. He snapped up his chances and that's what you want.
'He is someone suited to the full forward line. He can be a target man, but can also play with both feet which is a big plus.'
Two players that played their way in to Gillers squad, because of good form in the club championship..
Interesting to say the least

True. Sure we could spend the next month going to Leinster Finals between the football and the hurley. Tis hard on the pocket being a hugely successful dual county ....

At least we have the excuses ready..one step a head of Giller this year
More fun beating the Nordies than winning Leinster against the reggae boys,3 games against Down/Armagh/and that mob in the white jerseys would set us up nicely for 1/4 final..
2 Dublin hurling teams have reached Leinster final's, only waiting for the minors to complete the job tomorrow..Will top of some week for Dublin hurling if they can do it....

Wexford seem to do well at U21 level. Played them I think two years ago - or maybe even last year - and they had a No 6 that was absolutely brilliant.

Sometimes I wonder if you really believe the stuff you type.
The winners will only have to beat Carlow or Wexford in Croke Pk to make the all-ireland quarters, and win a Leinster title into the bargain.
The losers will have to win 3 qualifier matches in quick succession to get to that stage, perhaps away to the likes of Down, Kerry/Cork, Tyrone/Donegal, Armagh etc. A minor injury or suspension to the likes of Bernard Brogan or John Doyle could cause them to miss all 3 matches.
So yes, I would say that both Dublin and Kildare would be desperate to lose on Sunday.

Andrew Shore
Has gone to the states.
Might give us a fighting chance that he's gone, any team that beats the Cats would fancy winning Leinster

Never met a Dub that was excited about Kerry winning Sam.
Re: Dublin v Kildare
Really looking forward to this game, think Dublin might just edge it by a few points.
Re: Dublin v Kildare
Yeah it's a similar story with regards their hurlers, there's clearly an agenda at work here.GAA-Fan wrote:Dublin 1-6

Some very soft frees being given to Dublin.
Could be a potential bet for Sam on that basis.

Re: Dublin v Kildare
Dublin superior in first half. They look to have a better class of footballer than Kildare. I mean you look at Kildare's two inside men, Rob Kelly and Ronan Sweeney, both of whom started out their intercounty careers as midfielders I believe? James Kavanagh is hovering around the whole time but I've come to the conclusion that he's not that most reliable. Having said all that, we've seen how Kildare can turn it on in second halves so it's possible we're yet to seem them at their best. Alan Brogan is creator/distributor/provider/orchestrator/conductor/quarterback there at centre-forward - lovely player. And Bernard kicked a great point there around 25 minutes. I'll take Dublin for the win with the two Brogans leading the way.
