Offaly vs Kildare
Offaly people are amongst the shrewdest people I know and I see they are quietly confident about this game.
Offaly Kildare games in Leinster are like Meath and Dublin ones, its just toned down a bit. There is huge rivalry between the two so you can always be gauranteed a close game.
But Offaly have players of the calibre of Karl Slattery, Thomas Deehan, Conor Evans and Niall McNamee. Also add in the legend Ciaran McManus.
Kildare have a few stars of their own too, e.g. John Doyle but the Offaly full-back line is no weak link and I suspect they will do a good job of containing him.
Kildare are a bit over-rated in my book. Its a bit like when Roy Keane was at Sunderland, everyone thought they were great because of their manager. I could see McGeeney suffering a Roy Keane-esque departure come the end of this GAA season.

Re: Offaly vs Kildare
ive picked kildare in jc tipster comp but when i go into the bookies my money will be on the faithful at 3/1 think it is a right little bet well worth a E20 i reckon. I think all the hype surrounding kildare isnt actually there fault it seems to be a media steam train they done well in the league fair play to them but after each round in the league there match report seemed to grow week after week and the papers just seemed to go with them i thought it was like a dublin during summer thing fill it with them on match day and it will sell papers?? i dont think the praise was fully deserved they are more or less the same team that lost to wicklow last year i dont think they would lose to wicklow this year (but i did back wicklow at 11/2 to win last year) but there is no evidence to suggest they will steam roll offaly offaly still have a lot of talent they have just had there management problems this year but if they sort that out for 70 minutes i think they will win a very hard tight game. and i hope they do looking forward to a weekend in tullamore???

Offaly v Kildare
I have a feeling that Kildare are the only team in Leinster this year that might compete with the Dubs. They have a bit of steel that was lacking. Think they will beat offaly well.

Agreed. Offaly havn't showed enough to suggest they will seriously threaten this year and Kildare will be determained to go further in Leinster than they managed last year, Happy's 1st year in charge

Jaysus Mossbags, that is a very interesting point.
"Kildare will be determained to go further in Leinster than they managed last year"
I never looked at it that way. Can't see Offaly beating them now.

Its an awful pity there's such a poor Meath representation on this site. When we win Sam, it'll just be me celebrating.
