If Offaly have a full team they could be worth a flutter.
I would quite fancy Antrim with a full side to beat the Dubs, certainly at Casement.......

Patrique Dublin will show Offaly /Antrim plenty of respect because they have earned it..
As for beating offaly its going to be one tough game but if Dublin are to reach the next level they need to win this..
But this game is set up for an Ambush..
As for Antrim as previous years have showing it could go either way- if we were to meet later in the championship....
Dublin have a few injury problems..

Re: Offaly will beat Dublin
The Dubs BIG step forward this year is that "footballers" now want to hurl, rather than the other way round.
Dublin City, like Belfast, everyone is a dual player and they ALWAYS opt for football.
Not now with the dubs, or Karl Stewart of Antrim.
If the Dubs can maintain the great and wonderful progress, the Hill will be hailing the hurlers and kids will turn to that.
The first final I vaguely remember, in the kitchen of a neighbour called Fay, on the radio, 1961, Tipperary V.......Dublin, Snitchy and all.
Hurling needs a good side in the capital.
already has one in Belfast...........

Re: Offaly will beat Dublin
Dublin will be very focused on this. Injuries at FB to Tomas Brady and CHB to Joey Boland would cause concern for any team. Both lads have had great seasons so far and will be hard replaced.
Shane Dooley will be a key man for Offaly and is unlikely to have another off day like he did in League. Dublin should have enough and as mullins said need to win against the likes of Offaly, Wexford etc to show progress. I expect them to do this.

Re: Offaly will beat Dublin
Dublin won a league title putting up a great performance in the final to beat Kilkenny. The truth is that no one else was particularly bothered about winning the league this year and a more accurate assessement of where Dublin are really at can be found perhaps in their Championship losses to Limerick and Antrim the last two Summers. Certainly they have hit the ground running this year but the jury is still out on the smallball Dubs until and unless they reach at least an All Ireland semi Final, in other words Dalys Dublin have to bare their teeth in the cold light of Championship this year or never.
Offaly were very unlucky to be relegated from Div 1 this year. They wont mind being the underdogs here, what they will mind is the onslaught of injuries that has overcame their County team recently and word is that Rory Hannify may now miss out too. The absence of names like Rigney, Cleary and Joe Brady does leave Offally looking vulnerable here but they have the firepower with Bergin and Dooley to put it up to Dublin and everyone knows the biffos always save their A game for the Champioship. Im expecting a decent game here at a high level with Offaly to cause the first big upset of the Summer.

Dublin very lucky to be a point up at HT, delapitated biffos played them off the park in that first half

Not much to worry about here from a Galway perspective, Ref being particularly harsh on Offaly in 2nd half. Dotsys piled on the pounds

Yes moss - noone usually takes the League too seriously (except Galway). Dublin need to get to the next level - they need to start matching the likes of Galway's success in the C'ship ....

Re: Offaly will beat Dublin
i was surprised at the number of handy frees Dublin were conceding in the first half, they would want to cut them out before they come up agaisnt some of the big boys at the business end of things. Also Bergin and Dooley were causing a fair few problems to the Dublin defenders
