2011 League Finals
Without meaning to be presumptious does anyone know if dates for the League Finals have been set?

Easter weekend. Div 1 and Div 2 double header on the SUnday I think.

Re: 2011 League Finals
Just suppose Dublin win v Galway next week. They will have won 7/7. Their opponents in the final will be either Kerry or Cork - both have lost two games. There is every chance Cork/Kerry could be the League champions - having lost 2 games. And as Anne Robinson might say - Dublin - you leave with nothing ....

Armagh will have to win in Cork though - unlikely. Doesn't matter either way - sure we've bate ye both already ....

Right. It keeps the competition alive until the last week, and ensures more meaningful matches. If it was decided on points only, most sides would have nothing to play for in the last week.
Also, if I was a Dub, I'd be glad extra game, as it gives an extra game in front of a big crowd to a lot of your younger players. I'm hoping that Tyrone benefit from the same in division 2.

I think Meath and Antrim will be battling it out for that honour next year. Considering just how poor we've been this year it's shocking to think that there's been two teams worse than us!

Aye them's the rules - but it just makes a mockery of the term 'League'. All sports are at it these days. I suppose the GAA always had this kind of arrangement in fairness. But you look at the Magners League for instance and you could come 4th - 20 points behind the 'League' leaders - and still win the title. Similarly the English Premiership in rugby.

Ye can all relax. Dublin v Down/Cork. Kerry had already booked their training camp in Portugal for the weekend of the final :

Shame about David Moran. Terrible to see players pick up such injuries at any time but on the eve of the C'ship makes it worse somehow. Speedy recovery to the man.

Yes Jayo a big blow. In recent matches he was beginning to confirm the potential showed a couple of years ago and seemed ready to take over Darragh's spot. Also young Colm O'Neill of Cork suffered the same setback. Two potential stars of 2011 sidelined.

Don't worry The dubs will still be skulling pints in summerhill at 3.37 - Donegal will have the campfires on the hill well stoked for a few hours at that stage.

Re: 2011 League Finals
For the second year in a row Cork qualify for the League Final on the basis of the head to head result with the team they tied - but having an inferior points difference. Is the head to head the best method?

Re: 2011 League Finals
I think it should change, in div2 nhl antrim have a chance this week of beating limerick, this would leave them even on points with clare provided they beat carlow, antrim only lost to clare by a point, if antrim had a bigger score difference i wouldnt be too happy losing out on the head to head over one point!

Well done Donegal. Poor enough game. Watching Murph in action made up for it though. We're blessed.
That's a good enough Laois team. They could cause a few surprises later in the year.

Guilty as charged. On my holidays so sitting in a pub watching the finals. Poor Donegal turnout tbh.

Has this happened before? Eight points? Oh my goodness.
Where are the prophets who said that they wouldn't like to see Dublin if Brogan gets injured.
This is a heart-breaking result.

Sickening result for the Dubs.. They lost their heads in the final few minutes when one or two scores probably would have seen them home. Still though no shame in losing to the AI Champions by a point, they will be well in the mix come August.. Great game of football, as have all the Dubs games this year.

Re: 2011 League Finals
Awesome stuff for the rebels
post the demolotion of donegal and tyrone in 2009 they have now other than a blip gainst kerry performed at 75% pace turning up the heat in what the aussies call the championship quarter - despite the nomadic kerrigan the are a formadidable outfit with the awesome Pierce O niell to the fore when it mattered. Gallant show from the dubs - Cahill making what would on another day be 2 game winning plays but I think we have seen the future of sam for the next 4/5 years - and it aint blue.
Dubs looked a very fit and lean team today which if you are a sceptic suggests this is as good as it gets.
