.Pat Gilroy, an all Ireland winning manager, deserves great credit fot facing up to the future and being prepared to lose now so that the future may be better.
he could have kept the old guard, like Capello and harte, but sooner or later, as those two discovered, time runs out.
Maybe Gilroy could have kept the old brigade and won 9 Leinsters in a row, emulating Antrim hurlers in Ulster, but just like Antrim the all Ireland would remain well out of sight.
Gilroy has done the right thing, and needs a few more years to reap the reward..
Qoute from patrique early in the year..this man has being saying this to me for years and i totally disagreed with him ..Hes no spoffer he knows his football..

Thank you Mullins but tell me something i don't know!!!!(said he with unabashed modesty)
By the way, if you don't mind a bit of advice.
You should have simply omitted the word "Secretary" from the title of the thread.

Re: Tyrone No Class
Strange Patrique taking credit for predicting something that hasn't happened. Even stranger that he tipped Tyrone to win the Dublin game....

Re: Tyrone No Class
In fairness I'll go along with some of the stuff being posted here, it is Dublin's chance to shine in the next few years and counties like Tyrone (and Kerry for that matter before anyone tries to throw it back at me) will more than likely be taking a back seat for a few years.
I'd rather face Tyrone in the latter stages of the championship next year (if we get there) than Dublin, even taking into consideration this supposed "voodoo hoodoo last decade jinx", which I don't believe in either, but no doubt will be pointed out to me.

its been a long time since kIlkenny or limerick or several other counties have beat us in the championship so that statement could count for very little unless the draw pairs us together.
Its funny that the Tyrone players management and supporters are accused of having their heads in the clouds and yet its the Dublin lads who are shouting the odds about here, making bold predictions about what they will or wont do next year - a classic example of double standards. An injury or suspension to BB would render the Dubs season fooked!!!! No one here has made any predictions of what Tyrone will do next year, but we all agree that we are entering a period of transition and that the squad needs an overhaul.
And if Tyrone were so brutal against Dublin then it doesnt say much for the Dubs when we were still in the game with 3 minutes to go!!!!

Re: Tyrone No Class
I cannot really comment on the actual Dublin V Tyrone game.
after ten minutes it was obvious who was in total command and going to win so I went out to wash the car.......
Did Tyrone make a bit of a comeback if some posts here are to be believed?
