ladies football/camogie
I'm just watching the camogie here on the Sunday game. I watched a few of the ladies football games the last Day on TG4. While the camogie ladies are far superior in skill then there football counterparts i still think the standard is muck and i would have more enterainment and skill watching an under 12's or an under 14's match.
I'm not going to pander them and say its great its not. Why oh why are ladies football keepers not able to catch a high ball? there embaressing to watch i dont know how many goals i have seen going straight through their hands.
On another note i had to lower the volume down on the TV because the high pitched screaming coming from the crowd is upsetting my dog. Rant over.

Re: ladies football/camogie
So in the All Ireland Senior Hurling semi-finals there are 7 goals conceded but in the All Ireland Senior Camogie semi-finals there are 8 conceded and its laughable?
Are you telling me that Aoife Murray is a worse keeper than Dónal Óg Cusack by virtue of the fact she's a woman? They both conceded 3 goals in their respective semi finals.
Aoife has 4 All Ireland medals at the age of 26, Dónal Óg has 3 aged 33.
If Dublin and Clare weren't languishing in the bottom of the senior championship this discussion wouldn't be happening

Don't think it is a case of how many were conceded more so the manner in which they were....A far far higher error rate in camogie goalkeepers than hurling keepers at senior intercounty level

A one off example doesn't exactly prove your point....Must say i find camogie very entertaining, some of the best comedy of the week does be the highlighst on the sunday game and you see the keepers making fools of themselves, great laugh, puts me in good form for the week

Are you saying that Camogie players generally tend to be fitter than their football playing counterparts?

No ladies football is just a lot slower.

Well for the first time since 2004 we will have new winners of the Brendan Martin Cup this year.
The seemingly invincible rebelettes were finally beaten and beaten soundly by Tyrone by 9 points today.
Laois also won out meaning that only 1 of the 4 provincial winners will appear in the semi-finals.
Dublin (Leinster Champions) will play Laois and Kerry will play Tyrone.
On paper, it should be a Dublin v Tyrone final but with Kerry surprising many to get this far and Laois building momentum through the qualifiers, the Ladies Championship has been blown wide open.

Go on the Jackies! Snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Laois.
Hopefully Longford will beat Donegal next weekend to get into the intermediate final.

Good to see a Dublin team in the second most important All Ireland football final.

The second best "stick" goal keeper I saw was teresa Kearns from Antrim, who won a few all Irelands. Absolutely brilliant.
The best however was Skehan at hurling.
