Is it time the good people of GT had themselves a new fuhrer?
Is RMD asleep at the wheel?
Forum has lost its way. No one is standing up with the robust leadership required to take us forward. Many of the Forums elders have been asking questions, (Ye know who ye are ), a change of direction has been mooted in the corridoors of power, certain alternatives have bracing themselves fully for the challenges to come for some time now.

Indeed Mossbags
As a newbie I'm still attempting to negotiate the pitfalls of hierarchy assumptions
But i'm struggling to understand the lack of respect afforded to yourelf and your fellow sage from Leitrim
Surely the format style and repartee in your respective interactions are the backbone of the key differntiation selling point that is GT.
In that context I'm struggling to understand why yourself and Boxty are not afforeded full editorial control

In fairness to Leitrim, he played his part in turning the Bank Holiday hurling thread into the greatest thing ever seen on the INTERNET

Jaysus moss - if you ever see re-runs of the Riordans you are surely a reincarnation of Minnie Brennan!!
Lads this is the voluntary sector - you own this site as much as anyone. There is a suggestions - feedback thread which is treated with solemn seriousness and feel free to PM any mod etc where they can be deleted freely....
In short the canvas is provided - the nature and quality of the painting is down to the artists ...

This is an outrageous act of treason against RMD moss! Talk about knife in the back tactics!! I will not join your protestations as i feel you are trying a coup of the lowest order, RMD is our Kim Jong Il and anyone speaking out will be destroyed by the GT-Secret Service!

Statement from Boxtyeater.....
******Statement from Boxtyeater.....****** (From Associated Press)
After a long day of communications of all sort, IM, PM, Telephone, e-mail and what not, the members of this forum have reached a temporary consensus.
The appeal of GAATipster is world-wide, as evidenced by opinions expressed from North America, New Zealand, the UK and indeed the length and breath of the country by it's contributors and their confidences over the past 12 hours.
In approaching the nub of the issue ie. "Is RMD asleep at the wheel" a connection was made with other Donegal luminaries such as Dr.Jim McDaid while on the N7 and indeed Mary Coughlan while in her previous department.....
Given the upset afflicted on Donegal by Down and the fact their forwards were also asleep, it's obviously a Donegal trait...
Boxtyeater wishes to deny vehemently that he is using Mossbags as a form of "stalking horse" to access the levers of power.
As the championship hots up, this is not the time for a re-shuffle and I would appeal to Mossbags to, in the words of Gerry Collins, "Pull back Mossbags* for fook's sake, you'll burst the party, you'll burst it, burst it you will".
So RMD and indeed other Moderators (un-named) have been granted a form of continuance on an interim basis.
************Statement ends*********
It's a long weekend with plenty of action on all fronts, sporting, BBQ's, portering and general enjoyment.
Let's, in the interest of unity, put this divisive but important issue behind us and move forward (in the short term at least).
*Gerry Collins to follow...

Re: Is RMD asleep at the wheel?
Forum "Moderator" RMD has arisen, or, at least responded to, comments, in a typically Donegal fashion....
Who(m) on this Forum cares about a sport called te NBA???.......The tool from Galway 6inrow started it, and RMD goes......
This (OUR FORUM) has been more than accommodating to the views of impoverished soccerball afficionados /cum supporters whose names are un-mentionable and we've indulged the more affluent Rogbee crowd...ie. Jayo Cluxton et.al....

Re: Is RMD asleep at the wheel?
Boxty, I started a thread in a room titled other sports, if you're not interested then why go in there? I'd suggest if the majority of users on this site don't want to talk about other sports then the mods get rid of the other sports room, note how I didn't bring this subject up in any of the other rooms and nor would I. I like to think I stick to the rules of this site.
But once in the other sports room why open the thread called NBA Finals, couldn't be any clearer what it is. Again, if you don't like it why open it?
Now maybe you're looking for an argument with someone, no problem but look elsehwere as I'm not interested in arguing with you or pretty much anybody else.
But for calling me a tool I would like to tell you to go f*** yourself you miserable c***.
There, now we've got that out of the way can we shake hands and go back to being normal please.

Re: Is RMD asleep at the wheel?
Righty-o, this situation needs to be diffused. Boxty you were wrong to call 6inarow a tool, as he did nothing wrong. As he has said, he put up a thread on the NBA, in the 'Other Sports' forum, which is entirely within his rights. I understand you might not like foreign sports or the like, but that doesn't mean others shouldn't follow them.
6inarow, you were equally wrong to respond with that language. I'd recommend for you to delete it. We know you were within your right to put up that thread, but responding to a bad comment from another member with another bad comment from yourself, won't fix the situation. I've said this many's a time before, resorting to language like that undermines your argument.

Re: Is RMD asleep at the wheel?
I would have thought that in gauging a level at which an outburst causes offence, the receipient of said rebuke should take note of the timeframes involved.
There should be a linear correlation between the quantum of salt pinches afforded and the timespan after 23.00 hours.
I would have thought it only fair that a certain level of literray licence should be allowed when a poster has clearly spent several hours trying to kickstart the local economy whilst still having the decency to pop in to GT after conclusion of said excursion

Re: Is RMD asleep at the wheel?
The following transcript has just been leaked to me by sources close to those 'in the know', make of it what you wil
''Over a year or so in GAA Tipster I have developed a deep affection for
this House and its traditions. I recall the great figures who have
passed through its portals in my time and who are no longer with us. I
remember vividly the many important parliamentary occasions this House
has witnessed through the years. GT is the democratic forum
of this nation, to establish which our forefathers made many sacrifices,
and of which they would be proud. I would urge all Deputies to
continue to stand up for and enhance the standing of the forum and the
status of its Members and to foster a sense of pride in all our
democratic institutions. When we look around this troubled world I think we can consider ourselves fortunate
that we have these democratic institutions. We have introduced
many important reforms in recent years to make GT more
responsive and to bring it closer to the people under modern conditions,
and I have no doubt this process will continue. For my part I have
done a fair amount to improve the conditions of posters, to enable them
to carry out their duty of talking complete schite more effectively and
to facilitate their work as total lepjacks.I wish to thank all
those colleagues who have served with me in GT, and I would also
like to thank Deputies both from my own party, from the Opposition who have contributed to our work in the public
interest over the years. I want to thank the large number of dedicated
public servants and seniors for whom, as they know, I have always had the highest
regard, and who have served the Government and the country with
diligence and dedication. I would also like to pay a very special
tribute to my partner, Jayo, for her enlightened approach to all my social affairs, which has been of such enormous benefit to
our website over the past couple of years.Above all, I thank the
people of Ireland for the support they have given me over such a short
period of years and indeed for the great deal of affection they have
shown me from time to time when they were probably drunk or something. As I leave office, I bid them a fond
farewell and wish them every success and happiness. The work of
Government and of GAA Tipster must always be directed to the progress of
the nation, and I hope I have been able to provide some leadership to
that end in my time. I have always sought to act solely and exclusively
in the best interests of the Irish people.
Let me quote Othello:
I have done the state some service; they know't
No more of that.

From the same play
The Mods are of a free and open nature,
That thinks men honest that but seem to be so,
And will as tenderly be led by the nose
As asses are.

Re: Is RMD asleep at the wheel?
At the end of the day I opened the thread because I thought a few posters on here may be presentley either in the good old U S of A or may have spent some time there so thought it may have been of interest.
I will apologise unreservedly for my use of language to Boxty (a man whose posts I genuinley enjoy reading), it was more in gest (if such language can be in gest) than with any venom but I nevertheless apologise.
It has never been or never willl be my intent to disrespect anyone on this forum so Boxty my apologies again.
As mentioned earlier I hope we can return to posting as normal.
