Tiger kidnappings ...

Wasn't it good to finally see a judge get serious with these people. 25 year sentences for two of them might make these thugs think twice before carrying out this heinyous crime. It is an awful crime especailly when kids are involved and the judge got this one so right.

Does anyone know where the term came from? A friend of mine says it is because teh people originally targeted were 'fat cats' of industry so they said tiger kidnappings. I think it is because criminals used to be shown in black and yellow striped jumpers in the cartoons and comics. Anyone know if I am right?
