Should the GAA pay players during the recession?
clubs losing players to lack of jobs
any peoples clubs effected by lads leaving the area for work?
who on the site is still in a job? we havent taken a hit yet but think the summer could be hard lads finishing college with loans to pay no real way to pay them off.

Re: clubs losing players to lack of jobs
I'd say its bad and gonna get worse as summer approaches as you say.
I think there is a great opportunity for sports and voluntary organisations. If I was unemployed (hopefully not) surely there could be local projects arranged across a host of community areas to give focus to your day. Everybody would benefit. Govt should also look at getting people back studying if they are laid off. Gotta put moeny into these things.

Re: clubs losing players to lack of jobs
must say i dont like the poll attached to this thread so im letting people know the poll isnt mine??
its not very clear i dont think the players should be paid but i do think players need to be looked after by the gaa with jos and to make myself clear i dont mean making jos for them ??? i mean through contacts retraning giving scholarships maybe to send them back to college . putting them on the right track so they can get back in work easier.
