Greatest Game Ever? Empty Greatest Game Ever?

What is the greatest game ever?

In hurling, it has to be the 2004 Munster Final. It was an epic. It had everything, Garvan McCarthy's volley, Eoin Kelly's run and goal, Dan Shanahan's sixth goal of the championship and Paul Flynn from the free - he must have been 35 yards from goal. And there were some points hit that day too, Ken McGrath, Seamus Prendergast, Ben O'Conner, John Mullane and Paul Flynn. And Mullane getting sent off as well. And the manner in which he accepted his dismissal. Amazing game.

The Cork Clare semi-final a few years ago was a classic too especially for a game that produced no goals. In the end, it was a Jerry O'Conner point at the end that was the difference.

Hurling is difficult. Kilkenny V Cork 1969, 1972, Cork V Galway 1990, Waterford V Cork and Tipp in about 6 games this decade, and of course perhaps the best display ever, Kilkenny V Waterford last year.

Football narrows down to Down V Derry 1994, Mayo V Antrim 1974 U21 replay, Dubs V Kerry in 1977, and Armagh V Tyrone in 2005.

Probably the Down Derry game.
