Hurling All Stars
With only the final left anyone like to take a stab at naming the All Star team or at least some of them?
I expect Kilkenny to win next Sunday but not as handy as the previous two years and so they may not have the record equalling nine All Stars of last year. Final performances will obviously count on both sides and (should) have a bearing on ultimate choices. Is there any other player (ie not Tipp or KK) who people feel is 'nailed-on' regardless of what happens in the Final. I expect Loyal will 'nap' JC. Maybe Mullane? Don't think so meself. Fancied Limerick's Gavin O'Mahoney but their Tipp mauling can't have helped his cause. Possibility of a Dub???

i'd say Mullane is in their as a dark horse. Noel McGrath should definately be there.

Re: Hurling All Stars
Might be a bit early yet as it all depends on who wins this Sunday but I would expect at least 8 KK players. I'd say Cummins, Sheflin, Mullane, N.McGrath and Lar Corbett look likely to get an All star.

Re: Hurling All Stars
After Sunday, I cannot see Lar Corbett being close to an all Star. He was poor against Limerick and has never impressed at the TOP level.

Re: Hurling All Stars
What I don't understand about the All Stars is it made up of the best hurlers in the country or made up of the hurlers who play the best in the All Ireland final? Because if it was made up of the best hurlers Joe Canning and Eoin Kelly(Tipp) would be chosen every year as you know that although they might not always get top scores from play they have it in them to produce the goods.

Brick Walsh of Waterford is nailed on at No. 6 no matter what happens on Sunday.
Mullane in with a good shout still but Taggy's still got the big game to come.

I think Tyrrell and Tennyson are stick ons at the moment. Will be interesting to see if the Tipp forwards can give the selectors some headaches ....
