What days should GAA matches be played on?
Games on Sundays!
Does anyone else feel that intercounty matches should be moved to Tuesday and Wednesday evenings like the Champions League?
I was very tired yesterday and actually slept through the whole Tipperary Limerick game. This isn't the first Sunday this has happened to me and I am quite annoyed at missing the hurling now. Does it ever happen anyone else?
I do not normally go to sleep on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings so maybe a re-scheduling of GAA matches would help bring in the viewers?
Opinions?

Get out of bed ya lazy sod.
Feck it I missed the match because I has to tile and install a new bathroom.

Maybe you could start a thread. The way I see it:
A thread is better than no thread.
And what are your opinions on this current thread? I take it you'd like to keep the games on a Saturday and Sunday?

and how would you expect someone from Donegal or Derry or even Kerry making it to Croke PArk for a match at 7.30pm when they may only get home from work at 5.30pm.
And i doubt the GAA would change it for the simple reason that you fell asleep on a Sunday - perhaps you should invest in some device to allow you to record the game or perhaps you could try RTE's website and a re-run of the match on-line

Re: Games on Sundays!
Tuesdat would not be good for me - its my bridge night and Wednesdays are bingo - but I have fallen asleep on Sundays watching matches. But the kind barman usually wakes me up eventually .....

Yeah but I know the result so its not as exciting when you know the result. You need to see it live to get the whole experience, you get my drift Boc?
Obviously the Derry/Kerry supporters would be upset at missing the game due to work. But thats the way it is. I regularly work Saturdays/Sundays but I take the day off if I want to go to a game.
I would have thought that others might have slept through games on a Sunday, surely I'm not the only one?

These games are regularly played at weekends too, aren't they? I do not see this presenting a problem, Jim.
The GAA could try it for the League next year and see what its like.

I was merely stating that games where played midweek that was all.

Jim, I should be asking you for advice. You've already shown you've a taste for a pint or two. Has it ever taken its toll on you the day after and if so, how do you keep yourself awake?

Re: Games on Sundays!
When I played a bit of soccer on Sunday mornings I used to have a few after and then back to the Ma's for dinner and then a snooze. I got up to answer the door once and me leg had gone to sleep (as it had done for 90 minutes that same morning!) - nearly broke the bloody thing!
