How so? Weren't they in that position from the Down defeat last year?

I think JC means without being defeated at all.

FFS do I detect the Ulster paranoia shoulders hunched again? I am just pointing out that when you go to the f*****g bother of taking your provincial champ and win it then you have no escape route - as us Dubs are well aware. Don't see anything witty or god forbid any kick at f*****ng Ulster in that. Serious pain in my arse with this s***.

Yeah I know. And I am just getting a bit tired of the other Ulster police on here at this stage.

God you can rip the pi55 out of Moss or Clash or Swinny and they see it for what it is - its gas really.

And then you point out something factual and the antenna are up reading things that aren't there. It gets wearying.

I was on the receiving end yesterday for simply stating I though Antrim were better than Sligo I got pounced on by B&W who suggested it was typical Ulster bias when in fact it was nothing of the sort.

Jayo - calm your f**king jets man - i was merely having a laugh but your obviously having bad day. You seem to suggest Tyrone are in new territory being in a knockout scenario from here on in. How so my friend we were in it last year after Down beat us we were in it in 2007 after winning Ulster and on and on and on.

We have been here before so whats the big deal. What i take from what you said is the implication that in past years Tyrone have deliberately chosen to go down the route of the qualifiers - i dont buy into that theory, the qualifiers put so much extra pressure on teams were it game after game after game with little or no recovery period. And Mickey Harte is no bottler either.

I wouldnt consider myself a member of the Ulster police either i can take the stick as well as give it - but all the sh!t about strongest province etc makes me laugh, who cares which province is strongest? is there an award for it? how do you measure which is strongest?

And surely if we were all that bothered about our provinces then the Railway Cup/Interprovincials (call it what you will) wouldnt be in the mess it was in as we would all make a point of going to see the provinces play each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No such implication made or intended. Simple point is that when you win your province there is no margin for error. I am of course aware that Down beat Tyrone last year. And as champs the year before Meath caught them out in the QF. Point I was making is that excellent and all a team as Tyrone are they can have a blimp each season - so there is hope for the rest of us - and that now (as with Dublin for the last 5 years) there is no room for an off day.

I never suggested Tyrone chose the qualifiers route - a treacherous journey for any team - and I just don't know what the line about Mickey Harte being no bottler has to do with anything I posted???? Have the utmost respect for the man - a genius - and even now above the other Micko IMO.

Fair enough Jayo - am i right in thinking then that your saying as Tyrone have won Ulster there is more hope of another team beating them - whereas had they have been beaten in Ulster and had gone into the qualifiers there was less chance of them slipping up a second time (like last year). At least I think thats what your saying.

I would be of the thought that the likes of the Dubs Kerry and perhaps Cork were always in with a shout of beating Tyrone this year even before a ball was kicked in anger. Tyrone's aim this year as always to put back to back All Irelands together and that is a mammoth task but it's one we are more than capable of doing. Yes we are more than likely to have a blip - some would even argue we have already had it as we have only played in fits and starts in all 3 games to date.

The advantage Tyrone have over other teams is the mentality of the squad, these guys are very tough mentally they never know when they are beat. When they get setbacks during a game they don't panic they stick to the game plan very rigidly and usually respond in a positive fashion. So we may suffer a blip during a game but it is plausible that that blip will not be serious enough to see us beat - that is will the blip coincide with a team who are able to take advantage of it, last year we blipped against Westmeath and Mayo and yet we still came out the right end of a result.

Its mentioned on here about Meath being Tyrone's bogey team i actually think that the two teams that have cuased us most bother over the last number of years have been Mayo and Cork and so a game agaisnt either will be eagerly anticipated. We know we can get the better of the Dubs however that does not necessarily mean we would beat them should we meet.

The comment about Harte being a bottler was not aimed at you Jayo - but lots of people are of the opinion Harte has bottled the Ulster Championship in past years in favour of a handier run through the qualifiers - as i say thats not an opinion i share - the man is supremely confident in his own ability and that of his team and never shirks a challenge.

Bocerty, Tyrone can't beat Meath, Kerry can't beat Tyrone, Dublin can't beat Mayo, Derry/Armagh/Monaghan can't beat anyone. Razz ! Its just a fact of life. Why can't you admit it?

You can be a right prima-donna at times can't you? Are you incapable of distinguishing a normal question from "Ulster paranoia"?
You seem to have lost the run of yourself recently and won't allow yourself to take a post at face value. Your not the only one that has a pain in your arse with this crap. Have a good look at your own posts and figure out if you are going to be Dellboypolecat or JC on this board. At the moment you are flitting between the 2. HAve a think about whether any change on here recently is down to all the other posters or down to yourself.

Come back JC. Come back FFS.

Its the ongoing questioning of my apparent Ulster stuff - and only by yourself - that cheeses me off. Maybe you should be asking is the issue with yourself there RMD.

Either way I'll stick to the tipster thread for a while - can do without this rubbish. Oh is that my prima donna side showing again.

LOL. OK so, the issue is definitely mine. Sure I'm flat out telling people how much better Ulster is that anywhere else and I'm renowned for going on and on about how poor Leinster and the other provinces are.
Recently a lot of your posts have had an undertone of "Ulster" about them. Maybe your don't realise it or maybe it's deliberate. Either way it's annoying. Now given that this is an internet forum, being annoying is no crime nor is there any onus on you to alter your path in any way, however you have previously set the standard for us all as a posters and in my humble (and honest, whether you believe it or not) opinion you have drifted from that path recently.
