Re: Round 3 Draw
Please let Wexford beat Roscommon and then play the game in Carlow.
REDEMPTION!!!!!!!!!!!
I was hoping we'd get one of the bigger teams in Navan like Derry or Kerry.

I was hoping Derry would get Kerry!!! Thats a good one for Meath though. And a 'home' for Kerry and another home for Donegal but methinks their luck of the draws ran out here ....

Re: Round 3 Draw
Wicklow v Down
great draw for both teams here, wicklow going for there third win in a row in a single championship season for the first time since? prob ever and against another ulster team after knocking out cavan and fermanagh. down will be heartend after a facile win over london was followed up by a good win over laois. down will be favourtes but wicklow wont mind will be tight hard to call.
Meath v Wex/Roscommon
another game where any of the teams will fancy there chances, meath on a roll after two wins in a row over poor enough oppositision will go into this match as the bookies favs no matter which of the other two there facing but both wexford and roscommon will relish a game against the royals and the chance of a big scalp. meath will be glad that there was a draw between those two as it gives them another week to recover.
Kerry v Sligo
this has the makings of a huge up set, sligo fresh from beating munster opposition will really be up for it against kerry. we have not played kerry in the championship since 1975 when the kicked us of the park at HQ, this is different and i think we have a really chance here.
Donegal v Derry
another all ulster match up, local derby and all this should be an easy win for derry going on form but you never know in champioship and we all know donegal have one big game in them in any given championship. tough, tight and not a classic i would think. hard to know

Re: Round 3 Draw
Fix.
Give Kerry the handiest draw (no offence to Sligo) and then just in case they may play rubbish for 3 games in a row, give them home advantage to make sure they win and get into the last 12. What a joke.

Why would they want them in the last 12 - they bring f*** all through the gate! About 4,000 in Longford yesterday - brutal!

Re: Round 3 Draw
True Jayo. And as you would expect from fair-weather fans - not a rain jacket between them. Most of them probably stayed at home once they knew it was on TV.
Kerry were there for the taking but Longford ran out of time. I don't know how ref only got 2 minutes injury time though - Donaghy was down for that alone.
I was at the game and many of my fellow (so-called) Longford supporters left at half time so I cant just criticise Kerry fans.
The GAA want Kerry in the last 12 not for the gate but for the chance of a Kerry v Tyrone or Kerry v Dublin game which would be the icing on the cake in the 125th anniversary year.

I have to say I'm getting sick of Sligo constantly being put down by other counties. Wicklow are no question the handiest draw left. Beating two very poor Ulster teams doesn't suddenly make Wicklow world-beaters, I'd say any of the other counties left would have beaten them easily as well.
We've beaten them consistently in any league meetings in the past few years, and I'd be quite happy to put money on us beating them again if we were to meet them.
Not having a go at you personally shinners, just sick to death of Sligo never being given any credit.
Of the teams left in the qualifiers, you have to go back to 2007 to find any of them winning a provincial title, and those two teams are meeting each other. It's 2001 since any of the other teams one a provincial title.

Re: Round 3 Draw
Donegal are at home AGAIN but against a Derry team who beat Monaghan in Clones so it might not be that much of an advantage to Donegal.
I'm not having a go at Sligo at all but Kerry v Wicklow with Micko at the helm is a much tougher prospect than Sligo. I know that Wexford/Roscommon isn't much better but lets be fair about it - Derry, Down and Donegal are probably the 3 strongest teams left in it and Kerry have avoided them.
I was in Croker today and got soaked and sunburnt! Cracking match.
Not a happy weekend for Glenn Ryan at all.

One day, Shinners, one day.
Derry, Down and Donegal are the three best teams left? Meath would laugh at Down or Donegal.

shinners where are you going? sligo the handiest draw? seriously you would need to go and have a look at THIS years championship, how can you have down or donegal as 2 out of the 3 toughest teams left? shows what you know really when you come up with that is it just because there the 3 ulster teams left?
lest look at this years championship which is the only thing you should look at
donegal-lost to antrim in ulster and have beaten carlow and clare not by much!!!! great team there!!
Down- lost to fermanagh in ulster beat london and laois oh serious team!!
Wicklow- lost to westmeath in leinster enoguh said on that played well and meat a poor fermanagh team and a demorilised cavan team story of the championship in the qualifiers
meath- lost to dublin narrowly in leinster and followed up by beating waterford and westmeath hard to beat not huge quality but will not be easy for anyone
Derry- played terrible agaisnt tyrone and lost came back with a huge win over monaghan and will be a strong force in the qualifiers.
Wexford/roscommon- two very poor teams playing at there worst in years
kerry - enough said and in truth never looked like losing to longford 4 points in it in the end and they never came out for the second half at all!!!!
sligo- came close to galway needed a little more to beat them did not have it though, followed it up with a good win against hot favs tipperary who are the division 3 champions beating DOWN in the final!!!

Re: Round 3 Draw
Ok, apologies I should have thought it through before I dismissed Sligo but does anyone really think they will beat Kerry in Killarney?

Re: Round 3 Draw
I think Sligo could take Kerry. They proved they are a very good against Galway and Kerry havent really done anything to scare other counties.
