I don't get the hype personally. The media will love the build up to it for sure but the likely scenario is Johnston not appearing and Cavan well beaten. A damp squib expected.

As far as I know Coill Dubh have a Junior 9 league match at the same time. I imagine that will rule him out.

GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship Qualifiers Round 2 Draw
Antrim v Galway
Galway will find this a tough one. But may fall over the line
Leitrim v Wicklow
Another close call - would expect Wickla to come thru but may need ET again
Westmeath v Kerry
Oh dear - the perfect pick-me-up for the Kingdom
Roscommon v Tyrone
Roscommon play like their ground - Jeckyll and Hyde!!! Hard to know what side will turn up but Tyrone must be favs
Longford v Limerick
Glen Ryan (next Kildare manager) doing great things here - home win
Cavan v Kildare
Love a home win but won't see one
Laois v Monaghan
Fancy the Farney here despite their Down 2nd half implosion
Tipperary v Wexford
If the Yellow Bellies regroup (and I expect they will) they should beat a good Tipp side

Everyone going on about Cavan v Kildare when the stick out tie is Leitrim v Wicklow. Two counties who are steeped in GAA tradition but who have underachieved greatly. None of the big guns will want to draw the winners of this one.

Strangely, I'm getting a good feeling in my waters about this one....Whether it turns into confidence or not will depend on the fitness of the Ballinamore (Sean O'Heslin's) duo of Wayne Mac and young Shane Moran both of whom suffered early injuries in Castlebar.
There's a bit of talk about a Declan Maxwell return/cameo...He has a Tom Crean like status around here, indestructible...
Playing great club stuff may be persuaded to join the panel. Nobody would object, such as his service record has been.
Further updates as matters develop.

Word around Aughawillan is that he won't be playing any more ball this year at all.

Any of those Spirits willing to line out as full back? No real hope in Cavan for this one, people will go for a gander but expect Kildare to be pulling away comfortably after 25 minutes.
You should go and give your support in person. (and pick up a lad in a Cavan Jersey around Eccles Street en route)

Fortress Breffni. 10 Thousand Cavan folk annoyed at the lack of silage made so late in the summer should make for a nice hostile crowd to welcome the Lillywhites.

Tyrone safely through to the next round of the qualifiers, appeared to be a comfortable enough victory for Tyrone.

Re: Qualifiers Round 2 2012
Galway's losing streak in the qualifiers continues - I think they've only won one game in 12 years of qualifiers. And for the fourth consecutive year, they exit the championship following a one point defeat.
Wins for Limerick and Tipperary over Longford and Wexford says a lot about football in Munster too.
So, so far we have Tyrone, Tipperary, Limerick and Antrim safely though. Leitrim or Wicklow to join them. Round 3 of the qualifiers does not look particurly strong (I'm thinking of the number of teams Meath would have to fear come Round 4 should they lose to Dublin) although we would expect Kerry and Kildare to be there too.

Re: Qualifiers Round 2 2012
Not too many would have seen Antrim Tipperary and Limerick all in the next round of the qualifiers. Fair play to all 3 great to see it.
It's been all downhill for Galway footballers since their impressive performance at the start of the championship

Didn't bother RHM, the missus was mad to get but still troubled with my back so I didn't bother. Didn't hear what the crowd was like I suspect we will get Tipp or Limerick in the next round

Re: Qualifiers Round 2 2012
Massive result in Carrick on Shannon. Must be the first time since 1994 Leitrim have recorded two wins in the one championship campaign. First win in the qualifiers although they have taken Meath and Donegal to extra-time previously.
I had a feeling they'd be capable of a shock. I read an interview with George Dugdale during the week and he sounded optimistic. Must say, himself and Barry Breen have done a fine job since taking over from Mickey Moran.
I hope they get one of Antrim, Tipperary, Limerick in Carrick on Shannon again. A win there and a favourable draw in Round 4 (Clare/Sligo) and there might be a sequel to this:

Re: Qualifiers Round 2 2012
Well done to Leitrim, a great day for the GAA if you ask me, though the collar and tie brigade at HQ might not agree. To see so many 'underdogs' progressing all in the one way is somewhat refreshing and has breathed a bit of life into the championship for this year and perhaps for a few years to come.
Whats the chances of a few more shocks tomorrow????

young McCurry had an impressive display chipping in both 4 from play and seemed to be at ease with either foot. Disappointing that O'Neill missed out again and we didnt have to call on Justy either.
