If King is getting involved with the County setup it's very encouraging. Then again I think Trevor Crowe played in last year's Championship..

Adrian Hanlon dropped from Donegal panel for disciplinary reasons.

Between this and the news that Jayo scored 1-2 against Longford lastnight in his first game for Cavan in 2 years I would imagine the Donegal camp is close to panic...

Cavan Minors managed by big Dermot showing the way beating Antrim 2-11 to 2-2. Tyrone next up in the Semi, lets hope they can take heart from the U-21 victory and show no fear of Tyrone..

This was the Antrim minor team that disposed of Donegal very very easily. All the omens going cavans way.

This is apparently one of our weakest minor teams in years too and the appointment of the managers was farcical upsetting the preparation.. This is a nice win but Cavan need to start getting wins against the Tyrone and Armagh sides at Minor to get some momentum and belief going, Antrim and Donegal were two of the weakest in the Minor League, Tyrone will be a big step up.

What's Dillon like Scoop? Just saw the lineup there. Strange the way the club representation is! Only 2 from the Gaels, no Castlerahan, Ballinagh or Ramor lads..

Cavan team named for Sunday's game. 4 U21's included. Surprised to see Feargal Flanagan and Murray included, especially named as half forward/back respectively, they surely won't line out in those positions. The fullback line are 2 of last year's 21s and O'Dowd who is only 23. Extremely weak and lacking height, I can see Donegal's FF line tearing Cavan to shreds..

____________
Wasn't aware they had one - Mcfadden will play up front - no. 15 will either play in midfield or the half back line
and Murphy tends to wander around the 45.

When Donegal see that team selected, and being familiar with Cavan in general, I would be shocked if you didn't see Murphy on the edge of the square and ball pumped into him.

Kilkenny finished as a GAA powerhouse. Senior hurlers gone back badly, U-21's beaten by Wexico and the final straw, the JF's trailing Cavan..
The DJ Carey business has has a demoralising effect on the county....
Finished.

Re: Cavan vs Donegal
Finished 14 points to 4. They now meet Kildare in the final, the few U21s involved have the strange opportunity to pick up an Ulster and Leinster Medal in the same year.. If Cavan lose to Donegal expect a strong team for the final.
A win on Sunday seems out of our reach right now, in the long run I'd be happy with an encouraging performance and a "good loss.."

Re: Cavan vs Donegal
Fook it Boxty you're right.. It's time for that blinkered sort of optimism that a Cavan supporter can only enjoy for a limited time during Championship season!!
Donegal may have Michael Murphy but we have our own manchild in Cavan, one Mr Fergal Flanagan who may be handed the task of sticking to the big Glenties lad, "like schite to a blanket" as the old Latin saying goes.
Johnston goes into this game with Eugene Keating and Niall McDermott providing craftier and much stronger company in the full forward line than he has had in recent years. Keating can kick points as big as his ego and McDermott is Cavan's ginger ninja, if he starts well he'll play a stormer.]

15 against 15 when all's said and done...With the exception of the 1956 (Purcell) and the 1985 (Pat Spillane) finals, have I seen the great names pull them through the gap...
Ye're up agin', it but history, tradition, Givney (wonderful and un-beateable when in full flight) Johnston at his best, will give them their all...

Re: Cavan vs Donegal
Frank McGlynn is defintely out for this game. He's been one of our best performers so far this year and will be badly missed in the half back line. It's hard to know how Jim will adjust the team to replace him.
Durkan - He's a lot steadier under the high ball this year and while his kickout accuracy leaves a lot to be desired he's as good as we have.
McGrath - McGee - Lacey - One of our strongest lines. McGee has quietly become one of the top full backs around. Lacey is as good as ever and McGrath is playing brilliantly.
Cassidy - - Thompson - Eamonn McGee could slot in on the left and Thompson could plan centre back but he hasn't played any county football so far this year. Maybe Marty Boyle.
Kavanagh - McElhinney - I've been impressed with McElhinney so far. He's strong and works hard. Kavanagh is back to his best.
McHugh - Hegarty - Bradley - Heagarty will be the conduit between our swarming backs and our deadly forwards (I hope).
Molloy - Murphy - McFadden - Picks itself really. Brick has got to step up though. IMO he's been too timid so far this year. Time to realise that he's as good as if not better than McFadden.
Looking forward to the trip up to Cavan on Sunday. I've heard a rumour about it being all ticket. Presume this is BS??

The winker and his merry troop were on the receiving end of one of these flights a few weeks back.. Just awesome, a poor enough standard opposing him, granted, but even so.. For all the world it looked like a Senior playing U-16. Best catching display I've seen at this level since he did a similar job on them in the C'Ship Semi Final as an 18 year old.. Flanagan's influence beginning to show by the way, unbeaten in 3.
A lot of pressure rests on Keating and McDermott, Jelly will be swallowed up anytime he gets near the ball so the other two need to step up to the task. Don't think it's all ticket RMD, none of us have tickets anyways. I'm hoping the feel good factor from the 21s is still working, it'd be a great boost if we could fill Breffni.
