Might back Ballabriggs ew 16/1 and I usually back a 50 or 100-1 outsider.

Sadlers Storm 100-1 best one at that price.

Re: Aintree Grand-Nation
have had a bit of a study for national.
I think the safe each way bet is Big Fella Thanks who is now the perfect age for the national. Carrying a similar weight as last year i think he can do it.
The other three i fancy to go close are Ballabriggs, West End Rocker and maybe Backstage.
Outside bet is Piraya. Worth a small each way purely on the basis of completing the course last year.

Re: Aintree Grand-Nation
Good post Sam. However a lot of those near the head of the market have very big question marks beside their name including Big Fella Thanks (couldn't win it last year and now off 4lbs higher rating) and Backstage (only running in P2Ps). I do like the idea of Elliott getting Backstage to improve out of all recognition, and Carberry creeping him into the race but the value has long since been squeezed from his price. He was travelling well when failling last year as well. West End Rocker is the type of horse I'd leaning towards.
Given the doubts about the leading contenders, I suspect a lot of horses will shorten on the day, the Irish horses I like are BecauseIcouldn'tsee, Northern Alliance, Majestic Concorde and Malcolm Jefferson's King Fontaine - all at bigger prices. BecauseIcouldn'tsee from Noel Glynn's stable in the parish of Crusheen, County Clare is the one I like most.

Hello Bud. 33/1 . Fifth last year and also won Scottish National. Would be the oldest horse to win it for over 80 years, but a good EW bet.

Lads I got 11 and 37 in the sweepstake. I'd like a rundown on my chances please. Also I suppose it would be good to find out the names of the horses as well. Cheers.

11. Midnight Club has a very good chance, but I camt see him do it personally, your number 37 is 18-1 with PP i would be surprised if he dosnt go off in the 20's tho. Wouldnt give it a great chance but your lucky to have 11.

Re: Aintree Grand-Nation
The Midnight Club, the favourite and the mount of Ruby Walsh, has a very serious chance - in fact, I don't think RMDrive could have drawn a better horse in the sweepstakes.
Arbor Supreme is a horse who needs good ground, I cannot emphasise that enough, he's been running on bad ground all winter but will appreciate the return to a souder surface.
If RMDrive's luck carries over until tomorrow, then he has a good chance of winning.

Owing to my complete level of ignorance of all things equine, I shall maintain my tradition of betting on horses who's names I find funny.
€20 on becauseicouldntsee @ 25/1 will supply Seb with Gunniess for several weeks.

Re: Aintree Grand-Nation
Serious money for Don't Push It but wouldn't give him a chance of winning it. Bluesea Cracker is a great price at 20/1 but my choice is Ballabriggs, I just like the horse and Jason Maguire I trust on him. Will be looking for a 66/1 or 100/1 outsider usually worth a small ew.

Wouldn't rule out Don't Push It - very classy animal and the fact that Red Rum is the last horse to win back-to-back Nationals should not be overestimated.
Can't Buy Time and King Fontaine for Loyal.

Whatafriend and becauseicouldntsee see for me....
Have also hammered into Peddlers Cross at 13/8 this morning, the step up in trip will suit him down to the ground

Noble call as Puke would say.Tis' a shocking pity you're not punting during this Lenten period, although were you on this one, I'm sure OMAR would forgive you...
Wonderful cameraderie between the connections in the aftermath, in fact Trevor Hemmings may be deemed an alright sort...
